探究三 语言知识
1. 这是一块手表。It’s a _________.
watch可数名词复数“手表”,其复数形式在词尾加-es, 即 watches.
e.g. These are ___________ (手表).
【拓展】英语中,以s, x, ch, sh结尾的名词,在变复数时一般在词尾加-es.
bus- buses 公共汽车 box-boxes 盒子
dish- dishes 盘,碟 match- matches 比赛
另外,watch 可作及物动词,意为“观看,注视”,后接电视、比赛、节目等作宾语。
e.g. watch TV 看电视 watch a basketball game 看一场篮球比赛
2. How do you spell it? M-A-P .
这是一个由特殊疑问词how引导的特殊疑问句,how在句中的含义为“怎样,如何”。用来询问单词的拼写,回答时注意字母之间的连字符。
How还可用来打招呼,询问对方身体状况。How are you? I’m fine.
