T:Hello,boys and girls.Now you are the ninth graders.Congratulations to you and I will be with you to achieve a great success this year!
Today we will learn Unit 1 How can we become good learners? It’s very important for us to learn how to learn.And learning how to pass a test is also very important for us.Could you please tell me how you study for a test?
Show some pictures on PPT and help the students talk about them and learn to say “by + doing” phrases in 1a.

The following language points should be explained.
1.by working with friends ?
“by+ v.-ing”构成方式状语,表示“以某种方式、手段做某事”,by后可接名词、代词、动名词形式。
  I study English by watching English movies.我通过看英语电影学习英语。
2.by asking the teacher for help ?
ask的意思是“要求;请求”。由ask构成的短语还有:
ask for advice 征求建议
ask sb.to do sth.要求某人做某事
ask sb.not to do sth.要求某人不要做某事
[设计意图] 通过PPT课件和图片提示,努力创造更加真实的语言交际情景,让学生围绕本单元的中心话题“谈论如何学习”进行学习和知识积累,学习运用目标语言知识进行初步交流,帮助学生更好地了解他人和反思自己的学习方式。

(1) Listen and find the general idea.

Step Ⅲ.Post-listening activities
(1) Ask the students to listen to the tape and repeat.
(2) Have the students make up conversations about how they study for a test in pairs.
e.g.

(3) Get some pairs to present their conversations to the whole class.
[设计意图] 本环节口语训练是听力部分的延伸,通过让学生利用目标语言进行对话训练,锻炼学生的口头表达能力。
StepⅣ.Listening activities (2a-2b)
(1)T:We know how Meiping,Peter and Tony study for a test.Look at the picture in 2a;some students are discussing in the classroom.Can you guess what they are talking about?

T:Let’s read the questions in 2a and make sure you can understand the meaning of each question.
(2) Get the students to listen and check (√) the questions they hear in 2a.Then check their answers.
(3) Get the students to listen again and match each answer in 2b with a question in 2a.Check their work with some students.

1.What about listening to tapes? ?
What about…?意为“……怎么样?”,相当于How about…?,about是介词,后面跟名词、代词或动名词。
【拓展】表示建议的句型还有:
Why don’t you…?
Why not…?
Would you mind…?
Could you please…?
2.It’s too hard to understand spoken English. ?
◆too…to…表示“太……而不能……”,此结构本身具有否定的含义,相当于not…enough to…。
◆spoken是speak的形容词形式,意思是“口语的”,作定语,修饰English。
[设计意图] 通过听力训练,帮助学生更好地理解和巩固所学的目标语言,提取关键、有效信息完成相应的听力任务,从而掌握一定的听力技巧。
Step Ⅴ.Post-listening activities
(1) Have the students listen and repeat after the tape.
(2) Get the students to role-play conversations with a group of five.Use the information in 2a and 2b.
(3) Ask some groups to present their work to the class.
[设计意图] 通过角色训练,让学生利用目标语言进行交流,从而提高学生使用所学知识进行交流的能力。
