Teaching aims and learning objectives:
By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. Scan the text and find out how Dongdong asks mum to buy the pets and how mum answers.
2. Get to know the meaning of “pet, rabbit, basket cage, lovely, hold” both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce them clearly.
3. Use structures like “Can I have/hold it?” to ask sb. to do something.
4. Use structures like “Yes, you can. No, you may ... / Sure” to answer sb.’s request.
5. Use what they have learned to make up a new dialogue.
学情分析
这是我作为一名支教老师来到湖南省怀化市溆浦县卢峰镇鹿鸣学校执教的一堂展示课。当我刚刚接触这些孩子时,发现他们不知道如何回答问题,特别整堂课都是用英语组织教学,孩子们慢慢的也能听懂了,基础好的孩子能根据教师的提问去思考问题了。但是这个面主要集中在20位同学中,其余同学对英语的兴趣逐渐增强。这就是我觉得比较成功的地方。这篇课文我也是第一次在他们班录像,孩子们的对话达到脱口而出。

Step1: Warming up:
1. Greeting
2. Let’s have a match between the boys and girl. I’ll draw two animals. If you can answer the questions I’ll draw a part of animals. Let’s see which one can finish the picture fast. So who will be the winner?
3. Sing a song: “Old MacDonald Had A Farm”.
Step2: Presentation:
1. Free talk:
Do you like this song? Do you like animals? Some students take some toy animal into the classroom. T asks them: There are so many animals here, have you got animals?
2. Show some pictures of the animals, such as a chick, a cat, a pig, a cow, a duck.
Do you like these animals? Mrs. You likes them too. What does Mrs. You like? Can you guess?
3. T: Good! I like dog. This is Mrs. You’s pet. Its name is Stone. Teach new words “pet”.
4. Do you like pets? Do you want a pet? What do you want to buy?
5. Dongdong wants to buy a pet. What pet can Dongdong have?
5. Watch video and answer the questions.
6. Teach the new words: a rabbit.
7. Teach the new words:
Can you find out secret in these words? Can you find out the same letters in these words?
8. Dongdong and his mum are at the pet store. How does Dongdong ask Mum?

课堂的教学评价是非常关键的,我结合本课内容,正好学到cage这个单词,于是就画出了两个cage,分成男女同学比赛。
歌曲的导入,让孩子们对动物的感觉特别好,也复习了旧单词,对新单词也是一种引入。
自由问答激活学生的思维,同时在学习新单词时,采取自然拼读的方式让学生自己拼读。
通过问题的引导培养孩子们积极主动地去感知语言,带着问题去听,又为了降低孩子们学习的难度,让孩子们选择答句。
当同学们对答句掌握时,教师又提出问题再读全文,思考妈妈是如何回答的。所有的新知都是在同学们听课文材料、看视频中得出的结论。
从过去所学的单词找到规律,让孩子们去拼读,从而找出开音节的规律,以此类推,用所学的知识去拼读一些新单词。
同时通过Chant的方式,让同学们再次巩固句型,在放松的状态下,让孩子们再次习得语言。
最后教师给孩子们创编对话的框架,让孩子们选择不同的情境去创编对话。
