This is the third unit in this module. The main topic is the city we lived and how to ask the way, improving the students’ abilities of how to use sentence patterns and directions flexibly in actual situation.

1. Students can understand, speak, read and write words: street, go straight, turn right, turn left, far from, traffic light, bus.
2. Students can understand and say the following sentences:
Where is the zoo?
Go straight and turn left.

To cultivate students’ ability to observe in daily life and to use simple English dialogues.

Try to practice students’ listening skills.
Teach students to try to imitate and use English in their daily life.

课前准备
The teaching CD-ROM, the card of the previous lesson, the card of street, go straight, turn left, turn right, city, architecture and courseware.
教学过程
Step 1. Warm-up
Review the sentence patterns through two groups of pictures.

Step 2. Presentation and practice
1. Teachers show multimedia pictures to guide students to learn new words: street, go straight, turn right, turn left, far from, traffic light, bus.
T:What is it? It’s a street. (The teacher reads, the student repeats)
S:Street. It’s a street.
The same with go straight, turn right, turn left, far from, traffic light, bus
2. Learn new sentence patterns
Explain the text sentence meaning and usage, listen to the tape recorder.
3. Group practice
Use the text map group to practice dialogue between directions and directions.

4. Analog dialogue
Ask the group representatives to ask and guide dialogue on the basis of multimedia pictures. See which team did the best! The teacher and the students made an evaluation.
Step 3. Text learning
1. Text page43, read the text 2 dialogues, circle bus stop.
2. Student performance dialogue.
Step 4. Summary
1. Today we have learned street, bus, traffic light.
