1. Analysis of the Students
The students of Grade5 have mastered certain vocabularies, expressions and structures. They also have the abilities of working in groups. Most of them are willing to express their opinions in English as well as act the dialogue out.
2. Analysis of Teaching Content
Lesson 13 is the first lesson in Unit 3, Book 9.This unit focus on the subject Writing Home, Lesson 13 mainly talks about writing something for their family. It asks students to master the words and sentences to express our mind.

Step 1. Warm-up
Greeting：
T: Hello，everyone. How are you?
Ss: Fine, thank you. And you?
T: I`m fine , thanks. Nice to see you again.
Ss: Glad to see you again.
Sing the song: “My happy school”.
Step 2. Presentation and practice
Lead in:
Teacher show the pictures and learn the words.
Show the picture of a letter: This is a letter, we write a letter on paper.
Show the picture of an email: This is an email.We write an email on a computer.
Show a picture of a postcard: This is a postcard.
Show a picture has many postcards: These are postcards. A postcard has a picture on it.
Practice the words.
Practice the sentences:
Show the postcard with The Palace Museum, let students describe this postcard.
This postcard has a picture of the Palace Museum.
Show the postcard with The Great Wall, let students describe this postcard.
This postcard has the Great Wall on it.
Show the postcard with Tian’an men Square, let student describe this postcard.
This postcard has Tian'an men Square on it.
Learn the text.
Listen to the tape and answer the questions.
A. What does Jenny want to buy for her parents?
B. How many postcards does Danny buy ?
Check the answers.
Read the text.
Ask and say: Say what postcard you want to buy.
