Step 1. Greetings and warm-up activities
Ask the students to answer the questions: What is Christmas?
Why Christmas is special?
What do we do on Christmas?
When is Christmas?
Step 2. Watch the cartoon
T: Danny and Li Ming are shopping for Christmas gifts. (课文导入)
Step 3. Listening and vocabulary
Play the recording in part 1.
Play it again and ask the students to check the words they hear.
Check the answers with the whole students.
Step 4. Let’s do it
Ask the students to answer the questions in PPT.
Step 5. Speaking
Work in pairs. Ask and answer the questions in the pictures.
A: What holiday do you know?
B: Christmas Day.
A: Christmas is special. What’s on the Christmas tree?
B: Christmas lights.
Step 6. Homework
Copy the words and text of Lesson 15.
Recite the text well and practice the words.

教师在平时上课时,可以先读一些词汇或读课文,让学生不要去看书,跟老师读这些词,然后再让学生拼写,和学生讨论如何去拼写,看这些词是由哪些字母组成的。老师还能够先写出单词或句子,让学生根据已有的拼读知识试着去读出这些单词或句子。拼读训练是一个长期的过程,教师首先要了解学生的拼读潜力,从最基础开始,循序渐进,掌握有规律的单词读音,比较无规律的单词读音,从而到达记忆词汇,培养读写潜力的目的。这就要求教师对每个年级,每个学期课本中所出现的词汇,做到心中有数。
