探究三、知识详解
1. I don’t have a soccer ball, but my brother does. 此句中的助动词does用于替代与上文相同部分，以避免重复。本句中does实际上替代的是has a soccer ball。如：She doesn’t have a sister, but I do.
2. “play + 球类 with + sb”表示“和……打……球”。如：
We play soccer with our classmates after class. 课下，我们和同学一起踢足球。
3. 英语中，人称代词分为主格和宾格，主格用作主语，在肯定句中，位于动词前；宾格用作宾语，在肯定句中，位于动词后。因此对于我们中国学生初学起来有点困难。在汉语中，人称代词只有一类，不细分为主格和宾格，所以简单。试比较：
They have two basketballs, but they don’t play them.
他们有两个篮球，但他们不打它们。
They only watch them on TV. 他们仅仅在电视上看它们。
4. “Sth is + 形容词 + for +sb”表示“某事对于某人来说是……”。如：
Ping-pong is easy for me, but soccer is difficult for me.
乒乓球对我来说简单，但足球难。
5. “watch … on TV”表示“通过电视媒体观看……”，既有看的节目内容，又有看的途径；“watch TV”只表示“看电视”，没有观看的内容。试比较：I only watch sports on TV. I often watch TV.
6. same adj.“相同的”，通过含义就能看出，它隐含着“两个或多个人或事物具有相同的性质”，所以使用时，前面要用表示特指的定冠词the。
