1. Warming-up and Revision ( 5mins )
Greet students using simple language they’ve learned.
“Do you still remember ABC...? Let’s sing it together”
Play the recording, get the students to sing it together.
Encourage students to write the words in the picture in 1a on the lines according to the alphabet order.
2. Presentation(5mins)
T: Hello! My name is Kevin. I’m your teacher .What’s your name?(Greet a student )
S: My name is Tom. ( Help the student to answer it.)
T: Hi! I’m Kevin. Nice to meet you!( Greet another student)
S: Good morning, Kevin! I’m........Nice to meet you too!
(Write the conversation on the blackboard)
Show students sample conversations by projector. Remind them of new words.(Help them to read the words many times) Ask them to role-play the sample conversations in pairs.
T: What’s his/ her name?(Point to one student)
Ss: His/ Her name is....(Help students to answer it and write the conversations on the blackboard.)
Encourage students to work in pairs to make conversations to talk about other students.
Show their conversations.
3.1b Listen and Number ( 3mins )
T: Now let’s listen to the tape, find out the right conversation,
and number them 1-3.(Point out the boxes where students will write a number for each conversation. Then play a second time,if necessary)
Check the answers.
4.1c Practice(5mins)
Ask the students to practice the conversations in1bwithpartners in groups. Then use their own names to practice instead of the names given.
Encourage students to leave their seats, move around andgreet other classmates.
Get some pairs to come to the front of the class and act out the dialogue after they have practiced several times.
5. 2c Practice(5mins)
Call attention to the uncompleted conversations.
Encourage students to make conversation one by one.
Show and correct mistakes.
6. 2a,2b Listen, Number & Circle (5mins)
T: Now, look .at the pictures on P2, listen to the four conversations. Just listen.(Play the recording for the first time, students only listen.)
Then, listen to the recording again, and number the pictures .
“Listen again. Circle the names you hear. The first name is done for you.”
Play the recording. Students listen and circle the names they hear.
Then check the answers.
5. Practice(10mins)
Show students some exercises to practice.
6. Summary ( 2mins )
Help students to review the key points of this period.
Everyone is different, we should learn others. And try to be polite when greeting others.
7.Homework
Make conversations.
Copy new vocabulary of this period.
Recite the conversations in1b.
