第一节
(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
I
was
just
in
France
to
visit
my
grandmother
who
is
very
dear
to
me.
I
don't
get
to
cross
the
Atlantic
very
often,
and
she's
now
96
years
old,
so
every
time
I
visit
her,
the
two
of
us
are
very
aware
that
it
might
be
the
last
time
we
see
each
other.
Last
year,
I
did
a
series
of
short
video
interviews
about
her
life.
I
asked
her
what
it
was
like
growing
up
with
her
father
in
the
1910s,
and
living
alone
with
two
young
children.
I
asked
her
about
her
greatest
memories,
and
her
favorite
books,
foods,
etc.
I
learned
a
lot
of
amazing
new
things
about
her
I
had
never
known
before.
These
were
very
intimate
conversations,
which
made
me
know
her
better.
This
year,
I
did
not
really
have
questions
and
I
only
had
a
great
desire
to
make
her
know
how
much
I
loved
her.
I
cooked
for
her
and
read
her
stories.
I
gave
her
a
foot
massage
(按摩),
which
was
her
first
ever!
Before
leaving,
I
was
looking
for
a
way
to
leave
something
meaningful
behind
besides
the
memory
of
our
time
together.
Therefore,
I
wrote
her
five
different
love
notes,
and
hid
them
in
different
places
where
I
knew
she
would
eventually
find
them.
I
left
really
joyously
knowing
that
these
cards
would
surely
cheer
her
up
after
I
left.
She
called
me
as
I
was
travelling
back
to
Paris
to
catch
my
plane
back
to
the
US
and
said,
“I
found
your
cards!
By
the
time
I
discovered
the
last
one,
I
was
laughing
out
loud!
Thank
you
so
much,
my
sweetheart!”
I
smiled
to
myself,
knowing
she
still
had
two
more
to
go!
It
was
Sunday,
so
my
guess
was
that
she
had
not
checked
her
mailbox
and
had
not
yet
driven
her
car!

France

her
grandmother
very
frequently.

author
didn't
expect
her
grandmother
to
find
all
the
five
cards.
C.The
author
and
her
grandmother
enjoyed
the
time
they
stayed
together.
D.The
author's
home
is
not
far
from

grandmother's.
23.What
do
we
know
from
the

A.Grandmother
found
all
the
cards
immediately
the
author
left.

had
not
checked
her
mailbox
before
the
call.
C.Grandmother
always
calls
the
author
before
she
gets
on
the
airplane.
D.Grandmother
does
exercises
by
finding
the
cards.
24.What
might
be
the
best

of
the
passage
A.The
Wonderful
Time
with
Grandmother
B.The
Meaningful
Love
Notes

Person
Who
Influences
Me
Most
D.The

B
Should
adult
children
live
with
their
parents
Ratfink
(Australia)
In
our
country
children
are
now
staying
at
home
longer
than
previously.
It's
not
uncommon
to
see
kids
staying
until
their
30s
or
until
married.
This
is
in
part
due
to
the
high
cost
of
housing.
Besides,
kids
are
often
in
so
much
debt
after
purchasing
a
car,
paying
for
their
education
and
cost
on
nonessentials
such
as
the
latest
phones.
Mick
(UK)
Coddling
(溺爱)
people
does
not
help
them
stand
on
their
own.
Let
them
live
at
home
during
college
to
save
money
if
you
must,
but
once
they
graduate,
they
should
be
on
their
own.
This
doesn't
mean
parents
can't
help
them
out,
but
living
at
home
as
an
adult?No.
After
four
years
of
college
you
are
as
prepared
as
you
will
ever
be
to
live
on
your
own.
WRONGMAN
(US)
Independence
is
important
for
young
adulthood.
It
is
my
duty
as
a
parent
to
push
my
daughter
out
of
the
nest,
when
she
graduates.
We
are
trying
to
help
her
gain
confidence
and
independence
for
the
college
years.
Although
we
pay
the
majority
of
her
rent,
she
is
expected
to
work
part time
for
food
money.
If
she
chooses
not
to
work
...hunger
is
a
strong
motivator
(动机).
She
is
also
well
aware
that
upon
graduation
she
is
on
her
own
financially.
Jeremy
(China)
Adult
children
can
live
with
their
parents;
however,
I
cannot
bear
them
taking
advantage.
They
should
pay
rent,
food
and
other
expenses
just
as
they
would
if
they
were
living
with
a
roommate.
They
should
also
provide
assistance
to
their
parents,
such
as
cooking
meals,
cleaning
and
driving
to
appointments.
25.In
Australia,
kids
are
staying
at
home
longer
because
______.
A.they
are
lacking
enough
independence
B.their
parents
are
worried
about
their
safety
C.living
on
their
own
may
bring
much
pressure
D.they
have
been
used
to
living
a
rich
life
26.Which
one
is
Mick's
opinion
to
parents
A.Not
let
children
live
at
home
during
college
years.
B.Not
help
children
out
to
help
them
be
independent.
C.Not
let
children
live
with
parents
after
graduation.
D.Not
push
children
out
if
they
don't
want.
27.What
did
WRONGMAN
do
to
his
daughter
A.Help
her
pay
all
the
rent.
B.Force
her
to
live
at
home.
C.Advise
her
not
to
work
part time.
D.Help
her
become
independent.
28.How
many
people
think
an
adult
shouldn't
live
with
parents
A.One. B.Two.
C.Three.
D.Four.
C
The
question
“what
do
you
want
to
be
when
you
grow
up?”
is
a
most
common
question
we
all
hear
in
different
periods
of
life
and
in
different
forms.
The
people
asking
the
question
have
similar
expectation
—
expectation
of
hearing
a
single
or
one word
answer.
An
astronaut
A
scientist
A
doctor
or
an
engineer
but
not
all
of
them.
It
seems
not
a
harmful
question
to
those
who
are
going
to
choose
a
career
but
you
can
be
someone
who's
never
been
able
to
answer
the
question
and
it
can
cause
a
lot
of
pain
and
worry
for
many
of
us.
When
it
implies
(暗示)“you
have
to
DO
ONE
THING”,
there
it
creates
a
lot
of
trouble
as
you
have
many
interests
that
you
want
to
pursue.
It's
perfectly
normal
if
you
are
such
a
person.
Then
there
is
nothing
to
hide
or
regret
about.
Emilie
Wapnick
is
one
of
them.
She
noticed
her
interest,
and
devoted
time,
money
and
energy
to
it.
When
she
would
start
to
get
bored,
she
would
insist
anyway
because
of
her
devotion.
Her
sense
of
boredom
always
made
her
do
something
more
challenging
and
she
would
eventually
become
interested
in
something
totally
unrelated
(无关的).
Do
you
feel
the
same
way
It's
perfectly
fine
if
you
find
combination
of
all
your
interests
and
come
up
with
an
idea
of
what
you
can
do
with
all
your
knowledge
and
how
can
you
apply
them.
Denial
(否认)
of
the
fact
that
“you
are
drawn
to
many
interests”
means
that
“you
have
to
do
one
thing”
or
“pick
one
focus
in
your
life
and
deny
all
the
other
interests”.
Instead,
you
can
find
ways
of
combination
all
of
your
interests.
29.When
you
are
asked
“what
do
you
want
to
be
when
you
grow
up?”,
you
may
________.
A.be
expected
to
develop
various
interests
B.have
difficulty
in
answering
it
C.make
a
wrong
decision
on
choosing
jobs
D.be
hurt
and
lose
confidence
for
the
future
30.Emilie
Wapnick
got
bored
but
continued
to
follow
her
interest
because
________.
A.she
couldn't
find
another
interest
B.she
had
devoted
too
much
to
it
C.doing
something
else
was
more
challenging
D.she
was
not
a
normal
person
31.If
you
have
many
interests,
what
should
you
do
A.Choose
only
one
from
it
to
develop.
B.Try
to
go
after
all
of
them
one
by
one.
C.Think
out
an
idea
to
combine
all
of
them.
D.Give
up
all
of
them
and
find
a
new
one.
D
Some
students
get
so
nervous
before
a
test.
They
do
poorly
even
if
they
know
the
material.
Sian
Beilock,
a
professor
at
the
University
of
Chicago
in
Illinois,
has
studied
these
highly
anxious
test takers.
The
students
start
worrying
about
the
results.
And
when
we
worry,
it
actually
uses
up
attention
and
memory
resources
(资源).
Professor
Beilock
and
another
researcher,
Gerardo
Ramirez,
have
developed
a
possible
solution.
Just
before
an
exam,
highly
anxious
test takers
spend
ten
minutes
writing
about
their
worries
about
the
test.
The
researchers
tested
the
idea
on
a
group
of
twenty
anxious
college
students.
They
gave
them
two
short
math
tests.
After
the
first
one,
they
asked
the
students
to
either
sit
quietly
or
write
about
their
feelings
about
the
upcoming
second
test.
Professor
Beilock
says
those
who
sat
quietly
scored
(得分)
an
average
of
12%
worse
on
the
second
test.
But
the
students
who
had
written
about
their
fears
improved
(提高)
their
performance
by
an
average
of
5%.
Next,
the
researchers
used
younger
students
in
a
biology
class.
They
told
them
before
final
exams
either
to
write
about
their
feelings
or
to
think
about
things
unrelated
(不相关的)
to
the
test.
Professor
Beilock
says
highly
anxious
students
who
did
the
writing
got
an
average
grade
of
B+,
compared
to
a
B-for
those
who
did
not.
“What
we
showed
is
that
for
students
who
are
highly
test anxious,
who'd
done
our
writing
intervention
(干预),
all
of
a
sudden
there
was
no
relationship
between
test
fear
and
performance.
They
were
performing
just
as
well
as
their
classmates
who
don't
normally
get
nervous
in
these
tests.”
But
what
if
students
do
not
have
a
chance
to
write
about
their
fears
immediately
before
an
exam
Professor
Beilock
says
students
can
try
it
themselves
at
home
or
in
the
library
and
still
improve
their
performance.
32.What
do
the
students
start
worrying
about
before
an
exam
A.Whether
they
can
pass
the
exams.
B.What
other
student
do
during
the
test.
C.Whether
they
have
remembered
the
materials.
D.What
kind
of
problems
they
will
meet
on
the
test
paper.
33.What
is
the
solution
developed
by
researchers
A.Making
the
students
focused
on
the
test.
B.Asking
the
students
to
sit
quietly
before
the
test.
C.Having
the
students
write
about
their
worries
about
the
test.
D.Asking
the
students
to
direct
the
attention
away
from
the
test.
34.According
to
Professor
Beilock,
those
who
thought
about
things
unrelated
to
the
test
________.
A.became
less
nervous
before
the
test
B.were
better
at
controlling
their
feelings
C.did
better
than
those
who
wrote
about
their
feelings
D.did
worse
than
those
who
wrote
about
their
feelings
35.We
can
infer
from
the
last
paragraph
that
________.
A.writing
about
our
worries
before
an
exam
can
work
a
bit
B.we
can
only
write
about
our
worries
right
before
an
exam
C.the
best
place
to
write
about
our
worries
is
in
the
test
room
D.it
doesn't
matter
where
we
write
about
our
worries
before
an
exam
