I. Useful words and expressions
1. What do you usually do at weekends, Miss Guo?
at weekends = at the weekend 在周末。
on weekdays 在工作日。

地点名词前，介词用in。

a photo of …一张……的照片。
a photo of me强调照片里有我，介词后用代词的宾格。

“am/is/are + 动词-ing”形式构成的现在进行时，用于描述正在发生的事情，或图片、照片中人物当时的活动。
e.g., I’m having lunch with my cousin. Is he drawing or singing?

plan to do sth. 计划做某事。
plan的现在分词形式要双写planning。
6. That’s a good idea. 那是一个好主意！
常用于回答别人提出的建议。
7. Which place shall we visit?
助动词shall常用于征询对方的意见，往往用于第一人称。
e.g., Shall I open the window? What shall we buy for the picnic?
8. How are we going to get there?
get to到达。get后接there、home等词时，必须省略to。
9. Let’s go by bus.
let’s 引导表示“提议”或“建议”的祈使句，后接动词原形。
let’s = let us 注意要用代词宾格。
“by + 交通工具”表示乘坐……。e.g., by car, by bicycle, by train, by plane.
此句还可改成：let’s take a bus to go there. 注意take 后跟交通工具时，需加冠词。

通常表示“在某个区域内”时，用介词in；表示“在某个岛屿上”时，用介词on。

am/is/are going to do 用于将来时，表示对将来的打算。

cost 花费，这里的主语it指代车费。

Places to Visit in London
Hello, dear friends. Do you want to go to London? Come with me, I’ll show you some places of interest.
London has more than nine million visitors every year. They come and visit some of the most famous buildings in England – The Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, etc.
You can see some of the most interesting places by getting on one of the special visitors’ buses. You can get off (and on again ) at the places you want to visit.
Or you can take a ride on the London Eye(伦敦眼). This big wheel slowly takes you 135 metres above the River Thames. From here you can get wonderful views of the city.
Buckingham Palace(白金汉宫) is the Queen’s London home. It is at the end of a long road called “The Mall”. On some days you can see the Queen’s flag – The Royal Standard – above the building. Then you know she is staying at the palace. You can visit some of the rooms in August and September. And most mornings of the year you can watch the soldiers outside “change the guard”.
