The Migrating Birds
Canada Geese are beautiful birds. In summer you can see them on lakes and rivers in Canada. They are very friendly. You can feed them with bread or cakes. They will follow you around until you run out of food. Geese on water is a typical summer picture. But when winter comes, they are all gone. Where do they go?
In autumn you can see them flying in a V-formation in the sky. They make a honking noise when they fly as if to remind their friends to follow closely. They are called migrating birds. They fly thousands of miles to a warmer place in the south and spend a few months there. When spring comes and the air is moist and warm, these birds will fly back to Canada.
Every summer a Canada Goose has to eat a lot of food to keep itself strong. The flight in autumn is long and hard. Only the strong ones will make it to the south.
