T: I’m good at writing and taking photos. I write articles for newspaper. What job do I do?

(2) Say and Guess
Suppose you have got a job now. Tell your classmates what you are good at and what you usually do at work. Then invite a classmate to guess what job you do.
(3) Think and talk

B: I’m a singer.
A: What do you usually do?
B: I usually sing songs to people.
A: Do you like your job?
B: Yes, I do./ No, I don’t.
A: Why/ Why not?

本课时教授关于职业及相对应的工作内容。其中生词有architect, removal man, construction company等。提醒学生注意work in sp. 和work for a company两种介词搭配的细微区别。前者有强调在固定之处场所工作,后者有强调为。。。服务效劳不一定在某个固定地点工作。在学生口语表达中出现对furniture单复数概念的模糊,需反复强调提醒不能加s。
本课提高应用环节是让学生进行对子活动,其中一人说出某个工作内容,另一个人说出职业名称。本环节气氛活跃热烈。教学任务完成情况较好。

Cut out, write and say
In groups, each student picks a card and writes about the job on the card. Then each student reads the descriptions aloud and asks other group members to guess his/her job.

本课时学习对话:Kitty和她的其中一个邻居Susan的对话,内容为谈论职业。语法重点是巩固用Wh- H-等特殊疑问词引起的特殊疑问句来询问信息。并学会复述。
应用环节让学生在班内进行调查报告,用课文中所学句型来提问同学父母及家庭成员的职业及工作内容。作业要求能写一篇关于邻居的职业及工作内容的小作文。 基本完成教学任务,但是在作业作文中出现较大的问题是学生对语法概念模糊往往不注意动词第三人称单数需要加s.此问题有待于以后加强提醒和操练。

本课时学习用过去时描述一个事故。讲述Ben带着小狗在街上散步时被摩托车撞倒受伤被警察等救起并送往医院,被医生护士照顾,其小狗被动物保护协会的官员送回家等的故事经过,其中穿插了各职业名词的填空练习。语法要求巩固过去时的用法,本故事中出现的动词有: came, knocked, caught, were, ran, was, arrived, stopped, carried, drove, took, had, took, found, called等,需重点背诵。
对本课时应用要求是让学生看一组事故图片,让学生模仿课文写一篇操练过去时的小作文。
由于课文内容较长朗读用去很多时间,因此应用部分只是匆忙让学生先口头表达了,笔头作为回家作业,批改情况大部分同学掌握,会用过去时描述。

本课时以Tom上学途中所见描述四种职业人的工作。其中巩固了第一课里重点词组see somebody doing的用法。其中也强调了动词不定式作目的状语的用法,让学生进行造句练习。
本课应用要求让学生细心观察上学或放学途中能见到的各种职业人在干什么,并口头笔头描述成小作文,学生基本都能模仿描述。完成情况良好。
