Please read paragraph1- 5 and answer the following questions (on page28 ).
1. How many poisonous snakes and how many poisonous spiders are there in Australia? Are they all capable of killing humans?
2. What effect do most jellyfish have on humans? What about box jellyfish?
3. How many kinds of sharks are there in Australian waters? How many kinds are likely to attack humans?
4. What kind of crocodile has occasionally attacked a human?

115 different kinds of snakes and most of the 2,000 different kinds of spiders. Only a few spiders and snakes are capable of killing humans.
2. What effect do most jellyfish have on humans? What about box jellyfish?
Most jellyfish can cause severe pain to anyone who touches them but only the box jellyfish can kill a human.
3. How many kinds of shark are there in Australian waters? How many kinds are likely to attack humans?
160 different kinds of shark but only 2 or 3 kinds are likely to attack humans.
4. What kind of crocodile has occasionally attacked a human?
The saltwater crocodile.

Australia is an amazing country, which is famous for its all kinds of creatures, especially for some world-famous killers, for example, the box jellyfish, the brown snake, the great white shark, the funnel web spider and the saltwater crocodile, etc.

How to protect us from the dangerous creatures?
Crocodiles: If you are in the far of Australia a long way from , watch out for about crocodiles and stay away from and waterholes.

Spiders: Unless you are wearing gloves, don’t reach out your hands into places, under or amongst . If you do get bitten, go to the hospital if necessary.
