Predicting & Listening
1. Predict what information is needed when booking a
ticket. (Passenger Name, Destination, Departure date, Time, Airline Name, Flight No., Single or return, Class, Air Fare, Free Luggage Allowance (pics/kg), Boarding place, etc.
2. Listen, take notes and complete the booking details
To guide the student to predict before listening. To guide the students to pay attention to the flight information
Listening &Speaking
1. Listen again and spot the sentence pattern of making a polite request. (Would you mind....?)
2. Do pair work after the model. Model:
-Would you mind taking a morning flight? -No problem. That’s fine with me.
-I’m afraid I can’t. I’d rather take an evening flight.
To help the students know how and when to use the new sentence pattern.
Speaking & Consolidation
1. Make a dialogue about booking an air ticket.
2. When others are making dialogues, take notes.
3. Tell the rest students the information
To consolidate the listening and speaking abilities.

1. Read the text.
2. Think of three situations when you need to make a polite request at the airport and make three sentences with “Would you mind doing...?”
3. Draw a boarding pass and describe it.
教学设计说明
本课时是新新世纪教材九上第一单元第一课Travelling by Air的第一课时听说课。对话发生的场景是订购机票。这一学时完成后希望学生能达到以下目标:第一,提高听力技能。能预测听力内容,训练在听力过程中记笔记的能力,能获取主要内容和关键信息。第二,学会在何种场合使用Would you mind...这一句型,并且会作出应答。第三,会谈论有关航班信息,并且学会订票。重点是Would you mind....以及回答。难点是会订机票并且不遗漏相关信息。
在导入环节,为了拉近课本与生活的距离,激发学生的兴趣,向学生展示老师刚刚暑假出游日本的登机牌,就登机牌上的相关信息进行提问,同时进行单词的学习。这一活动的目的是扫清之后听力的障碍。由于旅行,登机牌这些话题与学生息息相关,又使用了真实的登机牌,可以有效激发学生兴趣。
在听的环节,先引导学生预测一下订机票这一对话中会涉及的相关信息。之前有单词的铺垫,这一预测活动,学生的互动性更强,可以大胆预测。在听的时候,让学生关注这些信息,学会边听边记,获取关键信息。
在说的环节,首先操练would you mind...这一句型,学生基本掌握在何种场合使用并且如何回答后,进一步增加难度,进行订购机票的对话。对话过程中,不进行对话的同学记笔记和关键信息,最后反馈对话学生的信息。在进行对话过程中提高每位学生的参与度,有效激发学生互动。
在作业布置中,首先熟读课文,第二设想不同情境,就would you mind...造句。第三,画一张登机牌,并且可以口头描述登机牌内容。作业设计层次与教学同步。
