Don’t try to steal any books from the corner，or you will be punished. If you don’t need the books, please put them in order. Don’t spread the books around on different shelves. Don’t give out the books to others.
Returning:
Books borrowed from the reading room can be kept for 15 days. The books must be returned before the due(到期的)date，or the kid cannot borrow other books.
Damaged(受损的)or Lost Books:
When a book is returned in a damaged condition，the kid will have to pay three pounds for the damage. Full price must be paid if a book is lost. We encourage students to carry books in plastic bags to protect them from rainy days.

Mother’s Day originated(起源)in America during the early 20th century. The festival spread to China as early as the 1980s and was widely accepted.
Why did a foreign festival become popular in China? In fact, Chinese traditional culture has always encouraged filial devotion to parents. There are many stories which show filial respect in ancient China. For example, the story of “Taste Liquid(液体的)Medicine for Mother” tells us the filial virtue(美德)of Emperor Wen of the Western Han Dynasty. His mother had been sick for three years. He often stayed up by her bedside and cared for her day and night. He tasted the liquid medicine first before she drank it. Also, mother’s love is a repeated subject in Chinese ancient poems, like Song of the Parting Son by Meng Jiao, a poet of the Tang Dynasty. Now this poem is still a must in the school textbooks. Children in China are brought up with the education of filial devotion. On special days, people often use roses or forget-me-nots to express love. Carnations are considered as the perfect flowers for mothers around the world, but few know that China has its own for mothers—the tiger lily.
Love for mothers can have different ways of expression. What matters most is love, not the festival itself. What mothers truly want is perhaps just a simple expression of love from their children.
You may find it difficult to make the plan now. Don’t worry. All you need is just a rough(粗略的)one. In Britain, Boxing Day is usually celebrated on December 26th, which is the following day after Christmas Day. However, strictly speaking, Boxing Day is the first weekday after Christmas. Like Christmas Day, Boxing Day is a public holiday. That means it’s a non-working day in the whole of Britain. When Boxing Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is the public holiday.
The exact origin (起源)of the holiday is unclear. One of the thoughts is that during the Middle Ages, when great sailing ships were setting off to discover new land, a Christmas box was placed by a priest (神父)on each ship. Those sailors who wanted to ensure a safe return would drop money into the box. It was sealed and kept on board until the ship came home safely. Then the box was handed over to the priest in exchange for the saying of thanks for the success of the sailing. The priest wouldn’t open it to share the contents with the poor until Christmas.
One more thought is about the “Alms Box” placed in every church on Christmas Day. Worshippers (做礼拜的人)put gifts for the poor into it. These boxes were always opened the day after Christmas. That is why that day became known as Boxing Day.
Today, many companies, organizations and families try to keep the traditional spirit of Boxing Day alive by donating (捐赠)their time, services and money to food banks, providing gifts for the poor, or helping families in need. In Britain, Boxing Day is usually celebrated on December 26th, which is the following day after Christmas Day. However, strictly speaking, Boxing Day is the first weekday after Christmas. Like Christmas Day, Boxing Day is a public holiday. That means it’s a non-working day in the whole of Britain. When Boxing Day falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the following Monday is the public holiday.
The exact origin (起源)of the holiday is unclear. One of the thoughts is that during the Middle Ages, when great sailing ships were setting off to discover new land, a Christmas box was placed by a priest (神父)on each ship. Those sailors who wanted to ensure a safe return would drop money into the box. It was sealed and kept on board until the ship came home safely.
