This lesson is the eighth lesson in the eighth grade of the eighth grade of Beijing normal university. The topic is the Olympic Games. This class for the second class, this unit is mainly talking about the 2008 Olympic Games and Olympic winners for the part of the project, this paper introduces the athletes age, height and most of the high jump, long jump, lifting weights three games best. The author introduces the most advanced form of the Olympic athlete in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and carries on the study of the language form of the superlative adjective adverb, and conveys the athletes’ persistent Olympic spirit.

The second period
Step 1. Tasks Ss to share their posters in pairs.
Then have the individual student reads the poster aloud in class and ask others to guess the athlete’s name.
1. Ss share in pairs.
2. One student reads the poster, but without reading the athlete’s name, asks the other ss to guess who is his/her favorite athlete.

Step 2. Learn the fun_ction of the superlative.
1. T presents the form filled last class and asks Ss to compare their age.
Then T writes this sentence on the board: Hiroshi Hoketsu is older than Antoinette Guedia.
2. Direct Ss to read the first sentence in Ex.2 and T writes it on the board.
3. Tasks Ss to think about:
(1) What are we comparing?
(2) How many things do we compare in this sentence?
4. Ss summerize the fun_ction of superlative.
(1) Learn the form of the superlative.
a. T directs Ss to the table on P31, point out one of the comparatives, high/higher.
b. T directs Ss to the table Ex.5 on P33, point out the superlative, high/highest.
c. Ss complete the table with superlative in Ex.5.
d. Ss check answers in class.
e. Ss summerize the form of superlative.
(2) Learn the sentence structure of the superlative.
