Now it is common to see students wearing heavy backpacks to and from school. Experts say the heavy backpacks are dangerous for children.
The heavy backpacks may make children fell pain in their body and stop them from growing. Experts Jacobs says crowded schools make locker(储物柜) space less for children, so their backpacks become bigger and heavier.
To solve the problem, first parents should help children choose the right backpacks. They need to choose the right size and children should try them on. However, whatever backpacks they choose, children shouldn’t put too many things in them. Research shows the backpack should be no more than 10 to 20% of a child’s body weight. Now some students are taking a lot of water to school. It’s not necessary. They’d better take empty water bottles and fill them at school. Another advice is to pack the heaviest things in the middle of the backpacks.
