In most parts of the world, many students help their schools make less pollution. They join“environment clubs”. In such an environment club, people work togrther to make our environment clean.
Here are some things students often do.
No-garbage(垃圾) lunches. How much do you throw away after lunch? Environment clubs ask students to bring their lunches in bags that can be used again. Every week they will choose the classes that make the least garbage and report them to the whole school!
No-car day. On a no-car day, nobody comes to school in a car—not the students and not the teachers! Cars give pollution to our air, so remember:
Walk, jump, bike or run. Use your legs! It’s lots of fun.
Turn off the water! Do you know that some toilets can waste twenty or forty tons of water an hour? In a year, that would fill a small river! In environment clubs, students mend those broken toilets.

There are amazing things in the world. The story about Nessie, the Loch Ness Monster(怪兽), is one of the widely spread legends(传说) in the early 20th century.
On 22 July 1933, two visitors, Mr and Mrs Geoge Spicer, were driving along one of the most famous lakes in the highlands of Scotland. Suddenly, they saw an animal on the road in front of them. Unlike any other animals that they had seen before, it had a very big body and a small head, but no legs. When Mr and Mrs Spicer saw it, it was moving towards the lake like a snake. Later on, the animal was described like a long black or green dinosaur, and it was informally called Nessie.
Soon, stories about this strange animal and Loch Ness became famous all over the world. Now people are still interested in Nessie and many visit Loch Ness in the hope of seeing Nessie.
Some scientists think that Nessie is not a monster at all, but a very large animal such as a seal or perhaps a shark or a whale. Other scientists do not think so. They think it may be sth unusual that lives in the water. Anyway, they are all sure that a kind of large animal lives in the lake and believe that they are going to find out what it is some day.
