Teaching procedures
Step 1 Warm-up.
In this part, I’ll let the Ss to sing a song and play a game.
Song Sing the song “What would you like?”, play the recording, let Ss sing it together.
Game (Review the words) The words will jump out of the holes, when it jump out, other students say it loudly.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Read and match
Show the picture of John’s home, dinner is ready in his home, let’s pay attention to what food they are going to have Ss will say the words about food loudly together, pay attention to countable noun and uncountable noun.
Play the video, let Ss follow it, read the conversation for twice. After that do an exercise, choose“T”or“F”. This exercise in order to make sure Ss understand the passage.
Show time Four Ss in a group, discuss what food they would like for dinner. Use the conversation “What would you like for dinner?”, “I’d like some…”.
Xiao Huihui’s home Xiao Huihui and his mother are going to have dinner, according to their conversation, students will practice the key sentences. Four students in a group, play the roles.
2. Look,choose?and?write
a. Let Ss pay attention to the food on the bowl, one answer it in oral, the others fill in the blanks. (They may pay attention to the correct writing, the letter space and capital letter.)
b. Ss have to be a little teacher, check the answers with your deskmate. One group send a student to show the sentences, I will commend the best one.
Step 3 Consolidation and Extension
1. I will offer some chances for Ss to talk in the class. Before class, Ss brought a picture of their favorite food. Introduce some food they are interested in, increase their amount of words.
2. Do a survey Use the key sentences to make a dialogue with Ss in group, in order to feedback the new knowledge they learned.
3. I will give them two mottos, let them eat more healthy food, cherish food.
Step 4 Homework
Write the two sentences in page 53 three times on the exercise book.
Make a menu you like, and invite your friends to your “restaurant”.
