一、教学目标:
1. 能在情境中理解Cartoon Time的内容,体会故事的幽默之处。
2. 能正确并熟练对比过去和现在,感受个人的成长和变化。
3. 了解人类的两项重大发明并延伸中国古代的四大发明及其他的发明,激发学生的自豪感,培养学生的家国情怀和跨文化意识。
教学重难点:
了解人类的重大发明,激发学生的求知欲望和远大理想,培养学生的家国情怀和跨文化意识。

教学过程:
Step1:Warming-up
1. Free talk What day is today? Can you spell it?
2. This class, we will go on learning Unit 4 Then and now.
Go on, what does this phrase mean?
3. The changes on Mike’s family. (Mike Tim Helen) Can you tell us sth about them like this:
ago, . But now
4. You have great changes too. Let’s guess: Who’s this boy/girl?
(1) Please introduce yourself like this:
… years ago, I was… I could… I couldn’t… I didn’t… Now I’m… I can… I…
(2) Take out your photo and talk about it.
(3) 总结:could couldn’t didn’t can后面用动词原形
(4) 呈现自己的照片Who’s she?
Thirty years ago, I was eight. I could ride a bike. I couldn’t speak English. I went to Beijing by train. Now I’m thirty-eight. I can drive the car. I go to Beijing by high-speed rail.
Step2: Culture Time
1. Here are some pictures about them. (Train high-speed rail)
(1) Who invented them? Teach: invented---in---vent---ed
The British invented the train.
(2) Who invented the high speed rail?------Japanese.
But now, Chinese really do well in making high-speed rail. Fuxing high speed rail is the fastest one of the world. The speed of it is about 670 km/h. It is ahead of the rest of the world. So I’m proud of our country.
2. Some great inventions in ancient China. What are they?
The Chinese invented the Gunpowder compass papermaking printing.
3. What do you think of our great inventions?
4. Great inventions change our life. They make our lives better. What should we do?
Listen carefully in class, we will know a lot and be a useful person!
Step3 Cartoon time
1. Do Bobby and Sam listen carefully in class?------No.
Please open your books, read and answer.
(1) Bobby is looking out of the window in class Teach: look out of
(2) Bobby and Sam are talking in class.
(3) Sam can’t answer Miss Fox’s question.
2. So Miss Fox gets angry. What are they talking about?
(1) Let me show you! Please read by yourself.
B: Hey, Sam. Do you know the four great inventions of China?
S: Yes. They are the Gunpowder compass papermaking printing.
B: Great! What else do you know?
S: Of course. That’s easy for me. The Americans invented the aeroplane, the mobile phone and the electric light. The British invented the train and the TV. The Germans invented the car. The Japanese invented the high-speed rail.
B: Wow, you know a lot about the inventions.
S: Because I want to be an inventor in the future.
F: Sam, make a sentence with “egg”.
(2) T: What are they talking about now?-------Great inventions.
We know a lot about the great inventions now. But Miss Fox gets angry.
(3) 老师模仿:Sam, make a sentence with “egg”. What’s Sam’s answer?
S1: I ate a cake yesterday.
T: What’s Bobby’s answer?
S4: Miss Fox, the egg was in the cake.
(4) T: Is Bobby right? What’s your opinion ?

1. Read the dialogue with expression and try to recite it.
2. Surf the Internet and find out some stories about inventions.

教学反思:
本节课围绕三个方面展开教学,第一个环节通过复习故事时间Mike的家人的相关情况过渡到了游戏猜猜猜,让学生在猜测的过程中复习巩固Fun Time 部分的内容,让学生从语句的输出逐步向语段的输出过渡。第二个环节是从老师小时候的照片引出高铁和火车,自然地过渡到文化板块,通过对比让学生感受到中国高铁事业的蓬勃发展,中国的复兴号已经世界领先,激发学生的自豪感和爱国主义精神。在这个环节中还补充了中国的四大发明,引导学生在掌握西方文化的同时,培养学生的民族自豪感。第三个环节是学生最喜欢的卡通板块。教学过程中没有进行过多的讲解,而是通过一系列的提问:What are Bobby and Sam talking about? Is Bobby right? What do you think of Bobby?等引发学生的思考,让学生在一个个问题中进行思维的碰撞,促进对文本的理解,提升学生的表达能力。
学生良好的朗读能力不是一朝一夕就能养成的。在本节课的教学中,部分学生朗读时还有所欠缺,还应该要在语音、语调和重读方面加强对学生的指导。
