教材分析 本节课为外研版八年级上册Module8 Unit1,主要语法为过去进行时态,在本册书中起联系前后的作用。
学情分析 八年级学生已经具有一些生活经验,了解了生活中会发生的各种意外事故,并且掌握一定的词汇,可以进行简单的描述并进一步理解运用所学知识描述,讲解以至解决问题。

使用信息技术进行导入,语法的讲解和操练,对话录音的播放及对对话的理解,学生作为小警察发出遵守交通规则的倡议等,通过设计展示图片等方式创设相关的话题,让学生能快速进入课程要讨论的话题。利用多媒体、动画等手段辅助教学,同时在对话教学中穿插练习,使学生当堂所学得到进一步巩固和深化。课堂活动的操练要精简,展示环节尽量让大多数人参与,下面的观众可回答问题或挑毛病,做评价,达到人人有事做。

Step 7 Homework
How to Avoid Car Accidents
1. Slow down. Obey the speed limit. Remember that police officers often stay hidden from view while looking for speeders. If you're caught driving too fast, they will give you a ticket.
2. Let others pass you.
3. Try to avoid driving in bad weather. If possible, try to avoid driving in the snow at all. If you must go out in the snow, drive extra slow.
3. Never get into a car with a drunk driver. Never drive after you have had a drink.
4. Wear a seatbelt. This is a must. Children should generally be 12 and older when sitting in the front passenger seat.
5. Keep your car in good condition.
6. Use your signals properly. Always use your signal, even if you think no one is there. Signal at least a couple of seconds in advance so others know what you're going to do before you do it.
7. Keep your eyes moving. Don't get in the habit of staring at the back of the car ahead of you. Shift your eyes to the side-view mirrors, the rear-view mirror, and ahead to where you'll be in 10-15 seconds. Doing this, you can spot a potentially dangerous situation before it happens.
8. Dim your lights when driving at night, when another car is approaching, or when you are following behind a vehicle.
9. Avoid calling when you are driving. It only takes a second or two n to get into trouble.
How to reduce traffic accidents
Recently, with more and more people owning private cars, more traffic accident are reported.
As we all know, the traffic accidents have been the social heated topic because the number of the traffic accidents is increasing. The main reason is driving after drinking. Besides, running the red light and the drag-racing in the cities are the causes. As a result, more and more traffic accidents have happened.
In my opinion, if we want to reduce the accidents, we should take action. For example, drivers should be punishment severely without mercy. At the same time, government should educate people to obey the traffic rules. Only when we reduce the traffic accidents can we live in a happier life.
