Part A Let’s talk
I. Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aims
(Students will be able to read and recognize the traffic vehicles: train, subway, bus, taxi, bike, ship, on foot.
( Students will be able to understand and use the adverbs of frequency: always>usually>often>sometimes>never.
(Students will be able to ask and answer: how do you come to school? I always/usually/often/sometimes/never come to school by... How do you go to..? I go to... by...
2. Ability aim
Students will be able to ask and answer the traffic ways when they go to some places and explain the simple reason why he or she chooses this way.
3. Emotion aim
Students will be able to understand and choose the green and healthy traffic way to get out instead of choosing some ways polluting the environment. Their awareness of environmental protection is to be aroused.
II. Teaching focus
Students will be able to ask and answer: how do you come to school? I always/usually/often/sometimes/never come to school by... How do you go to..? I go to... by...
:
To understand the frequency of the adverbs: always, usually, often, sometimes, never and use them properly.
IV. Teaching aids
Teaching cards, teaching materials, competition cards, rewarding gifts, computer.
V. Teaching procedures
Step I. Warm-up
(Teacher greet students.
(Teacher introduces herself: name, location, hobbies.
Step II. Presentation
(During the introduction of the teacher, the teacher lets students guess where she is from and lead into the question: “how do I come to Shandong? ”Lead into “I come to Shandong by train and by taxi.”
(During the introduction of the teacher’s hobbies, students are motivated to guess: “how do I go to Sanya? I go to Sanya by plane.”
(Teacher lets students guess “ how do I come to school” and present every traffic way on the screen. Meanwhile, present the adverbs of frequency vividly.
Step III. Practice
①Chant
②Play a game: teacher and students do the actions about the adverbs of frequency together.
③Let the students ask and answer how do you come to school? I always/usually/often/sometimes/never come to school by...
④Listen to the tape and fill in the blanks in the conversation of the text.
⑤Listen again and try to answer the questions:
How do Amy, Mike and Mrs smith come to school?
Step IV Extension
Let the students talk about “ Where do you often go on the weekend?
I... go to ...” “How do you go to...” “ I go to... by...”
Step V Emotion
Show the pictures on the screen and let students know more and more pollution is caused by cars. Students will be able to understand how to protect our environment.: Choosing a green and healthy traffic way .
Step VI Homework
Follow the tape and read the talk for three times.
Talk about the ways to come or go to some places with your friends.
