1. 理解主旨要义;
2. 获取事实性的具体信息,如时间、地点、人物等;
3. 对所听内容进行简单推断;
1.能识别不同语气所表达的不同情感;
2.能听懂有关熟悉话题的讨论和谈话并记住要点;
3. 能抓住一般语段中的观点;
4. 能基本听懂广播或电视英语新闻的主题或大意;
如:twice, double, three times, as large as..., 15 minutes later, half the price, 30 percent, one third, 20%discount/increase等等。 如:
M: Well, I wondered why the office is still not open.
W: But it’s not yet eight. In fact, it’s only a quarter to eight.
At what time does the office open?
A.7:45 B. 8:15 C.8:00
听力中出现了A项(a quarter to eight),但不是正确答案。B项主要是考查“a quarter to eight”中to的含义;听力中直接出现了C项答案,有些同学不敢选,担心“中招”。
I have booked a table for six. We want to sit in a table by the window. May I try it on? It does not fit me. It does not suit my skin.
husband and wife——darling, sweetheart, dear, our children...
teacher and student——Mr./Mrs., Professor, late for school, hand in homework...
boss and employer——print, type, ask for a leave, promotion, salary rise...
waiter and custom——Can I help you? menu, order, tip...
shop assistant and customer—Can I help you? be sold out, on sale, bargain
doctor and patient——Dr., headache, medicine, fever, catch a cold
parents and kid——Mum, Dad, get up, go to sleep...
classmates——our class, our teacher, go to library together...
strangers ——Excuse me, nice to meet you, sorry to interrupt...
如:M: Excuse me, Madam.
W: Yes?
M: Does this bus go to Zhongshan Road?
W: Yes, I think so.
M: You’re welcome.
What is the relationship between the speakers?
A. They are friends. B. They are strangers. C. They are brother and sister.
W: Can I help you?
M: Yes, I bought this radio two days ago, but I’m afraid it doesn’t work. I’d like to change it for another one.
W: Oh, dear. Yes, of course. Have you got your receipt?
M: Yes, here it is.
W: Thank you. Just a moment, please.
What is the most probable result of the conversation?
A. The man got this radio repaired.
B. The man got a new receipt.
C. The man got a new radio.
M: I hope it’ll be fine tomorrow. I’m going boating with Tom.
W: Oh, I think it will be fine.
M: Yes, I heard it on the radio.
What are the two speakers talking about?
A. A fine boat. B. Their friend, Tom. C. The weather.
此题的答案为C,而不能因为听到“I’m going boating with Tom”而选择A或者B。
经常出现的词汇有:football, basketball, play the piano, upset, happy, by bus等。
常见的关于此类的词汇有:by train, by plane, by bus, cheap, oil, passenger等单词。
You’d better...,why not do...等。
对话中出现举例或列举的地方往往也是出题的重点,听到such as, for example, for instance, the first, the second等词语时,应加以留意。
I wish...; if... /if only... /It’s not bother if you.../should have done.../ shouldn’t have done... /could have done....。 I should have done this,那么答案一定是I didn’t do this.
但must be.../must have done...
Cell Phone Repair Form
Customer’s Name
Thomas _____________(16)
Telephone No.
_______________________(17)
Time of Purchase
______________(18) 1 st,2005
Problem
Screen went _____________(19)
Solution(解决方案)
_____________(20) it up and check the inside
W: Can I help you?
M: Yes, please. I want to fix my cell phone
W: What’s wrong?
M: The screen went black last night.
W: Went black?
M: Yes.
W: Did you have an accident? Like dropping it on the ground, or into water?
M: No.
W: Well, then the repairman will help to open it up and check the inside.
M: How much will it cost?
W: It depends. Have you got the receipt?
M: Yes. Here you are.
W: OK. You bought it from us on May 1st, only three weeks ago. Then it will be free to inspect it. But if the damage is caused by the user, you will have to pay for the repair.
M: I see. When can I take it back?
W: I’m not sure. We will give you a call as soon as it’s fixed. Your name, please?
M: Thomas Tarshis, that is T-A-R-S-H-I-S.
W: Your phone number?
M:627935.
W: 627935. OK, that’s it. Anything else?
M: No, thank you. Bye.
1. exam, grade, marks, lecture, paper, pass the exam
2. father, cousin, grandfather, niece, nephew, parent-in-law
3. address, telephone number, postal code, credit card, ID number
4. bargain, brand, counter, price, on sale, cash
5. porter, check in, check out, a double room, reception
6. order, waiter, meal, go Dutch, dessert, salad, fruit
7. dentist, ward, operation, check-up, X-ray
8. mailbox, cable, parcel, air-mail, deliver
9. renew, catalogue, issue, due, charge, return, periodical
10. departure, boarding, luggage, platform, fare, flight, gate
11. pound, francs, pence, quarter, account, cash

Adults Seem to Have Most Impact on Teens’ School Success
Teachers and parents play a greater role than peers in keeping teens engaged in school, researchers have found. The findings challenge the widely held belief that peers have the greatest impact on the lives of adolescents, according to a report from the University of Michigan.
For the study, the investigators analyzed data from nearly 1,500 students from 23 schools in the Washington, D. C. area who were interviewed when they were in 7th, 9th and 1lth grades. The questions asked by the researchers focused on four indicators of student engagement: compliance (听从) with school rules, participation in extracurricular activities, identification with their school and the value placed on education. The students also were asked about the support they received from teachers, parents and peers.
As expected, the students’ school engagement decreased over the years and the decline was sharper among boys than among girls according to the report, which is published in the current issue of the journal Child Development.
The researchers also found, however, that students’ school engagement was just as likely to be positively affected as negatively affected by their peers.
In addition, the results indicated that any negative influences from peers could be counteracted (抵消) by social support from adults and from teachers in particular. This support included encouraging student engagement, stressing the importance of obtaining all education, and making it easier for students to take part in extra curricular activities.
“Even though this is a stage when young people are moving toward establishing independence, teachers and parents remain important in helping them stay involved in school and in extracurricular activities, ”Ming-Te Wang, a researcher at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research, said in a university news release. “And this is true for all races and across all the economic groups we studied. ’’
“Adolescence is a period when relationships with adults who aren’t your parents become increasingly important,” Wang added. “Our results suggest that supportive teachers play a particularly important role in keeping teens engaged in school. ’’

B. Peers have a greater impact on the lives of adolescents than adults.
C. Peers are more likely to have a negative effect on teens’ engagement.
D. Adults are more likely to have a negative effect on teens’ engagement.
2. Which of the following is NOT true about the results of the research?
A. Teachers are more likely to influence the students’ engagement positively.
B. The students’ school engagement decreased over the years.
C. Girls’ school engagement increased while boys’ decreased.
D. There is no difference about the research results among all the races.
3. In the period of adolescence, the relations with _____ are getting more important.
A. teachers B. parents C. peers D. classmates
4. In what tone does the writer write the text?

Monolog 10
Look at this picture. It’s the London Tea Trade centre. As you can see, it is on the North Bank of the River Thames. It is the center of an important industry in the everyday life of the British people. Tea is the British national drink. Every man, woman and child over ten years of age, has an average over four cups a day, or some one thousand five hundred cups annually. About 30 percent of the world’s export of tea makes its way to London. And Britain is by far the largest importer of tea in the world.
Now in the second picture, you can see how tea is tasted in the Tea Trade Centre before it is sold. Here, different types of tea are tasted by skilled tea-tasters before they are sold at each week’s tea sale. It’s amazing to see them at work! Over a hundred kinds of tea are laid out in a line on a long table. The tasters generally taste tea with milk, since that is how the majority of British people drink their tea. The tasters move down the line with surprising speed, tasting from a spoon and deciding what is a fair price for each tea.
2. A。 As you might expect, he is the butt of many jokes.
4. D。he had no school supplies的原因是他的家庭不能支付这些费用,因此用afford。
5. A。联系下文的not only because Jake was picked on我们可以得此答案。
8. A。联系后文的We devised a plan... in detail详细地。其他选项中,in person当面;on purpose故意;by accident偶然。
11. B。后文的this young man had a heart of gold, but rarely was able to show it...
13. A。联系后文we bought everything on his list可知,他把自己需要的东西列了一个表。
14. C。联系空后的that she had at home for him可知,Emma不仅仅为他买了学习用品,还把家里的Jake能用到的东西送给他,因此是extra supplies。
15. A。appreciative
16. B。联系后文where we bought everything on his list可知,她们去的是商店。

1. B。综观全文以及第一段最后一句“But they ale still filled with unusual creatures and environments that hold great interest for both scientists and visitors.
2. B。由最后一段建议“Take nothing but pictures, leave nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time.
3. D。由第三段“They find life on other moons and other planets, life will probably be very similar to what we’re finding in caves.
4. D。由倒数第二段“...which is easy to do with light and noise and things like that...”
Dear Mr. Smith,
I’ve read your advertisement for an assistant teacher for a children’s winter camp. I am quite interested in this position. I am outgoing, energetic, well-organized, and responsible; and most importantly, I love working with children! In the past two years, as a monitor in my class, I have proved myself to be an excellent helper to my teachers. I speak fluent English, which enables me to help native English teachers communicate freely and effectively with students in an English-only environment.
I will soon have a three-week winter vacation, so I have no problem working evenings and weekends. I can start working from the end of this month. I would be pleased to assist both the teachers and students in this challenging and rewarding environment.
Looking forward to your early reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
