One possible version:
People are supposed to spend more time planning a life than planning a vacation. After all, rest and relaxation should be balanced so that personal achievements can be accomplished. Only with directed thought can one eventually succeed.
Planning life after high school is a must for every graduate. Attending a top university is my initial priority. College life, in my opinion, can help further my studies and broaden my horizons. A quality education will sharpen my skills leading to even greater successes.
Achieving my goals, of course, needs practical action taken from now on. To prepare for success in college, I have been working extremely hard in high school. I believe I have laid the groundwork to be successful in college and I will direct my thoughts toward accomplishments in both the short and the long term. I’m firmly convinced that, with hard work and perseverance, a bright future is surely there for the taking.

M: Excuse me, when will Flight Number TV 9866 from Shanghai arrive?
W: It was scheduled to arrive at 3:00 pm, but it will be delayed for an hour and a half.
Text 3
W: What’s your vacation plan this year? Travelling in London or just staying at home?
M: Neither. My aunt invited us to her home. So I will go there with my family.
Text 4
M: I can't see the blackboard clearly when I sit at the back of the classroom.
W: Well, you've been wearing the same glasses since I knew you. It's time for a new pair.
Text 5
M: Down the hall is the entrance to the swimming pool. And over there is the classroom where we host our classes like yoga and cycling.
W: Wow, this is great! I'd like to sign up for a membership card.

W: It’s Jane’s birthday today. We are going to the cinema after school. Want to go?
M: After school? I have got to study for the math test tomorrow. When will the film start?
W: At 4:45.
M: I think I’ll stay back in school and do some review, and then I will join you.
W: OK. We’ll get the tickets first. You meet us at Kristy’s Corner a quarter earlier before the film starts. We’ll be having some ice-cream there before the film starts.
M: OK. What about going to a bookstore after the film? There is a sale.

M: Hello, Tony speaking.
W: Hi, it’s Susan from your flat in Arawa Street.
M: Oh, Susan. What can I do for you?
W: Um, we’ve got a bit of problem. I was cooking dinner last night and I had some stuff in the cooker. After a while I realized it wasn’t cooking. The cooker was on, but it wasn’t getting hot. I was wondering if you could come and have a look at it for us.
M: Was it working before yesterday?
W: Yeah, it’s been working fine, but for some reason we couldn’t get it going last night. We use it quite a lot so it would be good if we could get it fixed.
M: OK, I’ll come around and have a look. If I can’t fix it, I’ll get an electrician in.
Text 8
M: So, next year you're going to start your A levels. Which subject are you going to choose?
W: I’m surely going to choose Spanish because it is my favorite subject and then I’m not really sure... I’d like to do art but I don’t know if it’s very useful for my career.
M: What do you want to do?
W: A journalist. That has been my dream since my childhood. So, guess history or psychology or something is probably more useful for my career.
M: Do you want to go to university?
W: Yeah, but I’m not going to start university straight after I leave school. I’m planning to have a gap year, you know, a break from studying for a while.
M: And what would you like to do in your gap year? Any ideas?
W: I want to travel... I’d like to go to Italy and learn Italian. I don't know if it's really practical but that's my dream!

M: Hi, it's Charles Nelson. I have a reservation for tonight.
W: Hmm. . . Nelson. You have booked a room for five, right?
M: No, no. Hold on, there must be some mistake.
W: Okay. Let's check. . . Here, Mr. Charles C. Nelson for tonight…
M: Ah, my name is Charles Nelson, not Charles C. Nelson.
W: I'm sorry. Let me check this again. Oh, yes. Charles Nelson, a room for one for the 19th of May.[. Com]
M: No, a room for tonight, not for tomorrow evening.
W: I'm really sorry, but I don't think we have any rooms for tonight. Well, let me check my computer here. Ah! There has been a cancellation for this evening. A honeymoon room is now available.
M: Great. I'll take it.
W: But I’ll have to charge you 250 dollars for the night. Well, the best I can give you is a 10% discount plus a ticket for a free breakfast.
M: Thank you very much!

Good morning. This is Lydia speaking. Now I have no other choice but to call you to complain about the recent purchase of a woolen sweater from your department store on Philip Street, on September 25th. I recently washed the sweater in cool water, following the instructions. However, when I moved it from the machine, the sweater became too large and wrinkled and no longer fit me well. I phoned the store last Tuesday, which was October 12th, and spoke to the shop assistant, a Mr. Morris, who was rather rude on the phone and informed me that I could not get a replacement sweater as it was purchased at a reduced price. Later I phoned again but once more received a cold answer from one of your helpline staff that she could do nothing to help. I felt really upset, for I have been a regular customer of your store for many years and until this incident, I've never had any complaints. I must tell you, I feel disappointed to be treated in such a manner. I demand an apology for this manner. And I think you should have a talk with your workers. I’m expecting you to ring me back as soon as possible.
