This section is designed to give us students a chance to practise our English by completing a project. We are first asked to read the diary entry of a nurse who works for an international organization that provides medical service around the world. We will have a better understanding about what can be done to help poor people in poor areas.

Then we will make an action plan about what we can do to help these people. The purpose of this section is to let us students use what we have learnt to finish a project by working together. During the course of the project, we will discuss what we can do and in what ways we can help people. In order to finish the project, we are expected to cooperate as a team and complete each part of the project.
There are always people who need help from others. Some people in your community might need help from you. What do you think you can do for them?
A. This is the diary entry of a nurse who works for Doctors without Borders, an international organization that provides free medical services around the world. Read what she has done to help people in need. This will help you make your action plan.
