学习内容分析：本单元话题是介绍中国、加拿大、美国、英国和澳大利亚等国家，需要学习这些国家的名称、语言和一些描述地图的基本词汇。本课的特点是关于加拿大的基本情况，以及在单元中整合学习各国家的首都、语言、位置、国旗对比本课的知识。
学习者分析：学生已有的知识及能力水平是掌握了方向，对各个国家的英语名课时安排。
课时安排：一课时。
教学设计：
一．）教学目标:
知识目标：学生可以读写说出并听懂词汇Canada和English。
能力目标：培养学生的探究能力，能用英语简单介绍加拿大的基本情况。
情感目标：增强学生学习英语的兴趣，培养跨文化意识。

Class Opening (5 minutes)
Step1 ：1．?Sing a song: north south east west 做动作一起演唱。
【设计思路：通过带动作演唱歌曲，和学生一起热身，既是对方向的复习也为营造一节轻松愉快的英语课做了铺垫。】

Greeting: How are you ？Are you happy today？Do you like a guessing game ?

1.T: What country is it？
It’s Canada.
T: Do they speak Chinese in Canada？
No.
T: What do they speak in Canada？
They speak English and French.
2.T: What city is it in Canada?
Do you know Ottawa?
It’s very famous. Why?
Because Ottawa is the capital city of Canada.
3.T: Have you seen the Canada’s flag ?
Let me show you.
What colour is it? (red and white)
What is this? (a leaf)
So we can say : It’s red and white . It has a leaf.
4.T: I want to go to Canada, but I don’t know where it is.
Let’s have a look.
T: Where is Canada? (出示世界地图)
The U.S. is south of Canada.
5. Play a game:以击鼓传花的形式回答问题，检验学生对所学知识的掌握情况。
