◆that引导同位语从句时,起连接的作用,对名词进行解释说明,没有意义,不充当成分,不能省略,不能与which替换。
◆that引导定语从句时,作为关系代词,修饰先行词。充当一定的成分;作宾语时可以省略。
3. 用it 作形式主语和形式宾语的结构(1) It is + 名词 + 从句

与“坚持,命令,要求,建议,有必要/重要”有关的名词性从句中的谓语动词结构:
1)主动结构:(should)do;
2)被动结构:(should) be done;(should可以省略)

b. That Tom should go abroad to study is suggested by him.
c. His suggestion is that Tom should go abroad to study.
d. He gives us his suggestion that Tom should go abroad to study.
e. I though it necessary that I should stay in the room till he came back.5. 名词性从句中的主谓一致
主语从句作主语,谓语动词常用单数,但是若what引导的主语从句表示复数概念,谓语动词则用复数。

若主句谓语动词为think, consider, suppose, believe, expect, fancy, guess, imagine等,其后的宾语从句若含有否定意义,一般要把否定词转移到主句谓语上,从句谓语用肯定式。例如:
a. I don’t think this dress fits you well. 我认为这件衣服不适合你穿。
b. I don't think you are right ,_____________?
c. I don't believe they have finished their work yet,
_____________?
7. 特殊形式的名词性从句
a. Word came that we should finish the task in advance. (分隔) 消息传来---
b. Parents are taught to understand how important education is to their children’s future.(感叹句)
c. The reason for his being late/why he was late was that his car broke down half-way.(不用because)
d. He has heart disease. That is because he has been smoking too much. (because引导表语从句)
e. I hate/dislike it when they talk with their mouths full. (it指代when从句内容)
f. ★Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. (A之于B就如C之于D)
