【概念引入】
在英语国家，人们愿意平等友好地相处，命令他人这样做那样做是不合宜的，也是非常令人反感的。所以，诚恳的建议与谦和的商量，可以使你的许多意愿得到实现，也有助于增进你们的友谊。
【用法讲解】
一、提建议的表达方式
英语中这方面的句型很多，常用的有：
Shall I…? 或Shall we…?
用该疑问句表示建议并征求对方意见，意为“……好吗”？例如：
Shall I open the door? 我把门打开，好吗？
Shall we make a card for Teachers’ Day ? 我们为老师做一张卡片，好吗？
Shall we go boating tomorrow? 明天我们去划船，好吗？
Shall we go somewhere else? 我们去别的地方，好吗？
Let’s do sth…
let后面接省略to的不定式，意思是“让我们……”；有时也用Let us…/Let me….，还要注意句尾用“Shall we? ”与之呼应。 例如：
Let’s have lunch first! 咱们先吃午饭吧！
Let’s go for a walk! 我们去散步吧！
Let’s go and play with them, shall we ? 我们去和他们玩，好吗？
— Let me drive you home, OK? 让我开车送你回家吧，好吗？
— Oh, it’s very kind of you! 哦，那太感谢你了！
What about…? / How about… doing sth.?
用这句型提建议，后面接名词或动名词，意为“……怎么样？” 或“……好不好？” 例如：
What about another piece of bread? 再来块面包怎么样？
How about going boating？去划船怎么样？
How about listening to the radio in English? 听一听英语广播怎么样？
What about inviting him here? 邀请他来这儿怎么样？
Why not do sth.?
Why not do sth.?意为“为什么不……？”not 后面接动词原形。“Why not do sth.？”是“Why don’t you do sth.”的简约形式。例如：
Why not write it down ? 为什么不把它写下来呢？
Why don’t you have a rest if you are tired ? 如果你累了，为什么不休息休息？
Why not come and see me tomorrow ? 明天来看我怎么样？
Why don’t you introduce your friend to your parents? 为何不介绍你朋友给你父母认识呢？
Would you like to do sth.?
Would you like to do sth.?意为“你想要……吗？”后面接名词或不定式。例如：
Would you like a cup of coffee ? 你想来杯咖啡吗？
Would you like a hand to find them ? 需要我帮你找到它们吗？
Would you like me to help you with your housework ? 你想要我帮你干些家务活吗？
You’d better do sth.
You’d better do sth.意为“你最好……”，后面接动词原形，否定形式为You’d better not do sth.。例如：
You’d better not go to school very late. 你最好别太晚去学校！
You’d better not go home alone. 你最好别独自一人回家！
You’d better go home now. 你最好现在就回家！
(7) I suggest…
“I suggest…”意为“我建议……”，后接动名词或that从句。例如：
I suggest going by train. 我建议坐火车去。
I suggested that we go shopping after work. 我建议下班后去购物。
(8) You should do sth…
You should do sth.意为“你应该……”。例如：
You should do more exercise！你应该多锻炼！
You should always speak English in class！ 在课堂上，你们应该说英语！
— I’ve got a touch of fever！ 我有点发烧！
— You should go to see the doctor！ 你应该去看看医生！
(9) I think…
I think…意为“我认为……”。 例如：
— I think you should buy a new fridge！ 我认为你该买一台新冰箱了！
— Yes, I’ll buy one when I have money！是的，等我有钱时我就去买一台！
I don’t think that animals should live in zoos！我认为动物不应该居住在动物园里！
I think she’ll like here. 我想她会喜欢这里的。
I think English is less difficult than maths. 我认为英语不如数学难。
二、答复建议的表达方式
同意对方的建议时，一般用：
　 Good idea. 好主意。　　That sounds like a good idea. 这主意听起来不错。　　Right. Good.Fine. I’ll do try that. 对，我会那么做的。　　I’d love like to. 我很乐意。对对方的帮助或要求表示委婉谢绝时，一般用：
　 I’d like that, but…我倒是很想那样，但……　　It’ s a good idea, I suppose, but… 我想这倒是个主意，可是……　　No, I don’t think so. 不，我不这样认为。
