(Using a short chant to review what we have learned in last unit and activate atmosphere. )Then introduce the unit title “There are seven days in a week.”
Presentation
Step 1:
Play a game:Quick Answer.
T:Let’s play a game: Quick Answer.If you know the answer,please raise your hand quickly.(While saying the words,teacher put hand up quickly in order to let the students know what’s the meaning of quick.)
Question 1:How many students are there in your class? S:There are forty-six.
Then the teacher show students a picture about “Hello Kitty” and ask how many cats are there? S:There are fourteen.
T: This time,give me a quick answer ,please. Let the students know the meaning and read the sentence one by one.
T: Give me a quick answer,please. What subjects do you like? S: I like ... .
Then show them a picture about animals. Ask what’s the first animal?(Using the picture to let them know the meaning of “first”directly.) Show them another picture about fruits. Ask what’s the first fruit?
Step 2:
Play a game: I’m A Teacher.Let one student come to the front and make a dialogue with

others.

Step 3:
T:Look,here’s a table.Sunday is a day.Monday is a day.(Help them understand the meaning of “day”.) All the days make up a week.(Help them understand the meaning of “week”.)Do you know how many days are there in a week? Let’s count.One, two, three ... .So, we can say there are seven days in a week.
Let them practice the sentences “How many days are there in a week?There are seven days in a week.”in groups.
T: Do you know what’s the first day of the week? S:It’s Sunday.
Learn the word Sunday and the sentences “What’s the first day of the week? It’s Sunday.”
