Procedure
Steps Activities Purposes
Warm up: Let Ss do the opposite actions: teacher says “stand up”, Ss sit down; teacher says “sit down”, Ss stand up. Flashcards: make Ss say the words according to the cards. Sing the chant: ask Ss to sing the chant “one little finger” with actions together. Arouse their interest and review the words.
Presentation: Review and stick: ask Ss to put the pictures on the right place, then ask them “what’s this” to let them say the words again. Match game: now,it’s a little more difficult game. You should match the words with this cute boy. (on the ppt) Simon says: when I say “touch your nose”, you should point at your nose and say “this is my nose”. Pair work: you should introduce your body to your partner and when you say the same words, you can say hi to each other. I’ll give you 2mins to practice and then I’ll invite some groups to here. Review words: teacher point at her own body and say “this is my…” (guide Ss to say the words) and then show a book, say “this is my…” (guide Ss to say “book”) Show the ppt and ask Ss to review the words about stationeries. Learning: Play a game (train train train): the next one should say a different word. Consolidate the words.
Application: Pair work: talk with your partner about your stationeries and your body. I’ll give you 2mins and then invite some groups to come here. Ask Ss to sing the chant. (listen*1 chant*1 (chant + action)*2) Help students to be familiar with the sentence pattern “This is my…” and the words.
Extension: Introduce plural: teach the plural form—ears eyes hands fingers feet. Make Ss know the plural form of ear, eye, hand, finger and foot.
Summary:Today, we reviewed the ten words about body, the stationery words and the sentence pattern “Touch your… / This is my…”. We also learn the plural form of ear, eye, hand, foot, finger, leg and arm and sing the chant.
