Part C
Every month, Julia’s grandparents would give her and her cousins a few coins. Then all the children would run off to buy some sweets. The grandparents suggested a competition: the children had to show what they could manage to get with those few coins over a year.
After a year, Julia surprised everyone by turning up at the grandparents’ house with a violin and a lot of money. Even better, she played the violin really well.
In fact, Julia had got to know a poor violinist who played in the park. She said she would offer him all the coins her grandparents had given her, if he taught her how to play. The violinist agreed, and he taught her happily for months. Soon, the violinist lent her a violin so they could play together in the park. They were so successful that gradually she managed to buy her own violin.
Then Julia became a very famous violinist when she grew up. And she always told people how it was possible, with just a few coins well spent, to make your dream a reality.
