1) You could... 句型常用来提出建议, 意为“你可以……”。句中could是情态动词, 意为“可以”,无人称和数的变化, 后接动词原形。用could提出建议, 比用can语气更为委婉。
2) clean up
① 把…收拾干净, 梳理整齐;

② (美国俚语) 赚钱,发财;
He cleaned up in Shanghai last year.
“动词+副词”构成的短语。若代词宾语,置于动副之间。

3)【归纳拓展】 help的常见用法
(1) 作及物动词, 意为“帮助; 对…有帮助”,常见用法如下:
跟名词、代词作宾语 Let me help you. 让我来帮你。
跟动词不定式作宾语或宾语补足语, 不定式符号to可省略 Schools need volunteers to help children(to)read.
用于某些固定结构中 help sb. with sth. “帮助某人做某事”; help oneself to...“自用, 自取...”;
can't help doing sth. “忍不住做某事”
(2) 作名词, 意为“帮助; 帮忙”, 不可数名词, 常用短语为:
with the help of... “在……的帮助下”。

hope + that从句“希望……”, 常表示可以实现的愿望
wish wish sb. sth. “希望某人……”, 表示祝愿
wish to do sth. “希望做某事”
wish sb. to do sth. “希望某人做某事”
wish +that从句“希望……”, 常表示不可能实现或实现的可能性较小的愿望
hope和wish都可作名词, hope为“希望”;wish为“愿望;祝愿”。
hope与wish的区别:
特别注意: hope可接不定式作宾语, 不能接复合宾语。
3. The girl could volunteer in an after-school study program to
teach kids. 这个女孩可以在课外学习活动小组义务教孩子们。
volunteer的用法:
(1) volunteer 作动词, 意为“义务做;自愿做”, 既可作不及物动
词, 也可作及物动词。作及物动词时, 后可跟名词、代词或
动词不定式作宾语。
She volunteered the information.
她自动提供了这一消息。
She volunteered to teach in the school. 她自愿在学校教书。
(2) volunteer作名词, 意为“志愿者”。
She thinks being a volunteer is great.

up. 这个女孩可以探望生病住院的孩子们使他们高兴起来。
1 ) cheer “欢呼;喝彩”,既可以作动词,也可以作名词。
The crowds cheered as Tom ran to the finishing line.
当Tom跑到终点线的时候,人群欢呼起来。
We welcomed him with cheers. 我们以欢呼来欢迎他。
2)cheer up “ (使)变得更高兴; 振奋起来”,既可作及物动词短语, 也可作不及物动词短语。
He told jokes to cheer me up. 他讲笑话使我高兴。
(动副短语, 代词作宾语时, 要置于短语中间。)

词;加上后缀 less构成含有否定意义的形容词。eg.
careful 小心的 careless 粗心的
helpful 有帮助的 helpless 无助的
