Warm up: Let Ss watch a video about colors and ask them what colors did you hear. Ss: Red / green / blue / orange / yellow… Match game: let Ss match the words with right pictures. Up and down: invite some students to come to the front to hold one color in hand and say “red, red, it’s red.” 复习句式 What colour is it?以及一些颜色词:red, blue, orange, purple, black, yellow, pink, green
Presentation: T shows the picture and the dialogue in lesson two and ask Ss to read the dialogue together. T: Do you remember this dialogue? So let’s read it together. Ss read the dialogue together. T: ok, they see a yellow bird and a black dog, what else will they see? T shows them the pictures and ask “what’s this?” Ss: it’s a cat. T: what color is it? Ss: it’s blue. (show the schoolbag, dog, ruler as the same.) 帮助学生复习对话:What’s this? it’s a cat. / What color is it? It’s blue. 导入本堂课的对话
Learning: T shows Ss the picture of one frog and asks them “what’s this?” S1: it’s a frog. T: what’s color is it? S2: it’s green. T shows the other three frogs and ask them “How many frogs are there?” S3: four. (then invite some students to be a little teacher and ask others the three questions) T asks Ss to open books and makes an example on how to practice the dialogue. 初步练习对话What’s this? it’s a cat. / What colour is it? It’s blue. / How many cats are there? One/two.
Application: Pair work: T gives Ss 3mins to practice the dialogue. And then invite some pairs to show their dialogue. After each pair end their dialogue, ask Ss to write down the numbers on their books. Chant: First, let Ss listen the chant (with music and picture); second, ask Ss clap their hands in rhyme; third, T guides Ss to sing the chant one sentence by one sentence; finally, invite every group to show the chant. 帮助学生练习巩固对话What’s this? it’s a cat. / What color is it? Extension: If time permits, ask Ss to finish the “review and stick” activity. 再次巩固颜色词
Summary: Today we reviewed three dialogue structure: What’s this? it’s a… / What colour is it? It’s … / How many … are there? One/two… and learn a new chant “I can sing a rainbow”. At the same time, we expand some other vocabularies about colors: gray, brown, white.
