After graduating, he became a biochemistry teacher at Boston University .He was talented in writing. In 1939 and 1950,he had stories and his first novel published. He was famous for his fiction stories and received many awards. His works had great influence on other writers. He had two marriages and two children. He died of Aids in New York in1992.
