For
Taylor
Walker-Lear,
an
11-year-old
Australian
schoolgirl,
the
Great
Wall
is
a
magic
ladder
which
carried
her
closer
to
her
dream.
Taylor
was
born
with
cerebral
palsy(脑瘫),
a
disease
that
affected
her
movement
and
stopped
her
from
16
like
a
normal
child.
But
her
strong
will
has
sent
her
to
create
public
17
to
the
disease
and
raise
money
for
people
living
with
it.
In
March
2016,
she
reached
the
top
of
Mount
Kosciuszko,
the
highest
mountain
in
Australia
at
2,229
meters
above
sea
level.
When
her
mother
asked
her
what
her
next
goal
was,
she
answered,
"Mount
Everest
might
be
a
little
too
18
right
now,
but
maybe
the
Great
Wall."
On
June
6
this
year,
her
19
came
true.
With
her
walking
tool,
the
support
of
her
parents,
and
20
by
a
group

volunteers
from
Beijing,
Taylor
realized
her
dream
in
China
by
climbing
21
.
Taylor
moved
ahead
22
and
with
decision.
When
the
stairs
were
too
hard
for
her,
her
parents
lifted
her,
23
her
to
keep
going.
In
preparation
for
her

Wall
event,

strengthen
her
legs
.
In
September
2016,
Taylor
went
through
a
big
operation
to
improve
her
24
.
After
that,
she
was
able
to
stand
straight
like
other
children.
Asked
25
the
operation
was
painful,
she
said,
"It's
all
right."
Toni
said
her
daughter
never
26
while
recovering
from
the
pain.
"She
always
pushes
herself
to
be
the
best
she
can
be,
she
is
such
a
27
kid,”
she
said.
Taylor
now
has
a
new
dream:
to
train
hard
28
she
can
take
part
in
the
swimming
29
at
the

I'm
not
much
of
a
crier
most
of
the
time.
But
recently
when
I
was
reading
a
book
on
a
plane,
I
started
crying.
Of
course,
it
came
as
a
big
surprise
when
tears
came
up,
no
matter
how
hard
I
tried,
I
wasn’t
able
to
control
myself.
Oh
no,
not
this
now.
I
thought
to
myself.
But
even
as
the
thought
entered
my
brain.
I
felt
the
first
hot
drop
of
salty
water
coming
down
my
face.
I
put
my
head
down,
hoping
that
I
could
go
on
reading.
In
fact,
the
harder
I
tried,
the
more
tears
pushed
their
way
out
of
my
eyes.
You
could
guess
how
surprised
the
man
next
to
me
looked.
I
dropped
my
head
in
shame.
He
must
think
I
was
crazy.
May
be
I
could
turn
toward
him,
hold
up
the
cover
of
the
book
and
say
in
my
crying
voice.
"I'm
sorry,
sir.
It's
just
a
really
good
book!
"But
I
didn't
say
anything.
Instead,
I
just
put
my
head
back
against
the
seat
and
let
the
tears
run.
Do
you
know
what
decision
I
made
while
I
was
crying
My
decision
was
that
it
was
okay
if
he
thought
I
was
crazy.
I'd
rather
be
crazy
than
be
the
kind
of
person
who
wouldn't
cry
when
the
situation
called
for
it,
or
who
wouldn't
let
herself
feel
anything
at
all.
I’ve
been
that
girl
who
has
spent
so
much
time
trying
to
make
sure
people
didn’t
think
I
was
crazy.
But
now
I
don’t
want
to
be
that
girl
any
more
---that
bored
and
sad
girl.
I'd
rather
be
this
girl
who
is
able
to
forgive(原谅),
love
and
act,
even
if
it
means
being
disappointed
or
being
hurt
again
and
again.

Misty
Copeland,
a
successful
African
ballerina(非裔芭蕾舞者)in
America,
had
a
hard
life
when
she
was
young.
As
the
fourth
of
the
six
children
raised
by
a
single
mother,
she
even
spent
part
of
her
teen
years
living
in
a
single

room
with
her
whole
family.
Copeland
got
a
chance
to
learn
ballet
at
Boys
&
Girls
club
at
13.
Three
months
later,
she
was
able
to
dance
en
pointe(踮起脚尖跳舞).
It
takes
most
dancers
years
to
master
that
skill.
Her
ability
in
dancing
was
noticed
by
the
teacher,
Cynthia
Bradley
soon.
Then
Copeland
moved
in
with
Bradley’s
family
and
trained
with
her
for
three
years.
Some
people
said
that
Copeland
didn’t
have
the
body
to
be
a
ballerina
because
of
her
large
muscles(肌肉)on
legs
and
black
skin.
They
thought
her
muscles
and
black
skin
made
ballet
less
romantic.
However,
through
hard
training,
Copeland
was
picked
on
by
famous
American

at

age
of
19.
Although

2015,
she
became
the
first

in
the
same
month,
she
successfully
became
the
first
black
principal
dancer(首席舞者)in

because
they
just
don’t
think
there
will
be
a
career
path
for
them,”
Copeland
said.
“I
hop
that
will
change.
I

them
on
what
it

to

there
came
an

the

started
laughing,
and
