探究1. 过去进行时
过去进行时主要表示在_______或___进行的动作。其构成为______________________。常与at that time, this time yesterday, all the evening, from 8:00 to 10:00yesterday, just then, at nine yesterday, when等表示明确有具体的时间状语。
肯定句：主语+__________________+其他。例：They were having a meeting that time.
否定句：主语+__________________+其他。例：They weren’t having a meeting that time.
一般疑问句：________+主语+______+其他？
肯定回答：Yes，主语+was/were. 否定回答：No，主语+wasn’t/weren’t.
例：Were they having a meeting that time? Yes, they _____. No, they_____.
探究2. So while you were sleeping, I called Jenny and she helped me.
辨析when和while
When “当……时”其谓语可以是延续性动词，也可以是非延续性动词。
While “当……时，在……期间”表示两件事同时发生，其谓语动词必须是延续性动词，常用于过去进行时态中。
例：The sun was rising when we got there.
While he was walking in the park，the accident happened.
