Artificial intelligence(AI) has made a breakthrough in recent years, which will make robots accessible to ordinary people. The question of whether robots will replace teachers in the classroom has raised great concern.

A robot teacher or not ?
Some people foresee that the role of teachers will change considerably. Robot teachers will be seen distributed throughout the country. In this case, school teachers will lose their traditional role and eventually become little more than assistants. Robot teachers can be set to cater to individuals, providing various levels of knowledge to students according to their different abilities. Supposing robots' components are made portable and they are programmed properly, some drawbacks can be avoided. In addition, they will never show any prejudice against students based on gender, race or status. Instead, they can identify personal preferences and develop students’ all-round abilities.

The advantages of robot teachers?
① Discuss with your partners.
Try to list some drawbacks of robot teachers.

1. Robot teachers are rigid and they can't teach students vividly, resulting in students' loss of interests.
2. Robots cannot really understand students' requirements by their facial expressions and fail to make proper adjustments immediately.
3. Given that it' s not easy to operate robots, they can break down if not used properly. It costs much to repair them.

② Will robots replace teachers in the classroom? Why or why not?(60词左右)

Despite lots of advantages robots have, I think it unwise to replace teachers with them. It's real-teaching that keeps classes alive and teachers can create situation for students to work together and cooperate. Besides, individuals need to feel a sense of belonging and have meaningful connections, all of which a machine cannot provide. As it is, the more connected people are to technology, the more disconnected they are to other people. Teachers are supporters. They are inspirations to every student. Inside and outside the classroom they are there for us.
