I had a really wonderful time this afternoon. After school, Grace and I went to see Phil’s jazz band practise. It was great fun and I have learnt a lot about jazz bands, especially the different (1)__________________played by the members.

Grace told me that there are four different groups of musical instruments. These include the (2) _______ , woodwinds, brass and (3)__________. The two guitarists in Phil’s band play the guitar pretty well. Phil plays the (4)__________, which are percussion instruments. They give rhythm to the music, so they can be called the soul of a jazz band.
