英语时刻表达法
英语中的时刻表达方式一般有两种
一是用数字加AM(a.m.)或PM(p.m.), 如6:30 AM,英语读作six thirty AM,意思是“上午六点三十分”;二是用文字表述的形式,如:half past six in the morning,汉语意思是“上午六点半”。
(1)AM(a.m.)表示午夜0时至中午12时这段时间,PM(p.m.)表示中午12时至夜里12时。
(2)文字表述时间时,用介词past(过了……)或to(到……),先说分后说时,未超过30分时用“分+past+时”,超过30分时,用“到下一钟点所差的分数+to+(下一)时”,如:
3:25,twenty-five minutes past three“3点25分,即25分过了3点钟”;3:55,five minutes to four“3点55分,即差5分到4点”;汉语的时间“由大到小”,如:上午7点半,先说大的时间范围“上午”,再说“时”,然后再说“分”,而英语时间“由小到大”,先说half past seven,然后说in the morning。

英语陈述句的语序习惯
英语词语的顺序有时候与汉语不同, 汉语一般是“某人在某时某地做某事”,如:我通常在12:00点在学校吃午饭。在英语中,本句的语序就不是这样,英语的词语顺序是“某人做某事在某地在某时”,如:I usually eat lunch at school at twelve o’clock.
