Unit 1 Can you play the guitar?

一.单元教材分析(简述单元材料与话题,语言目标与技能目标)
本单元主要围绕 “谈论自己的能力/才艺,加人俱乐部,” 这一话题设计教学任务与活动,包括根据自己的才能,运用情态动词can谈论自己在某一方面的能力、喜好,以及表达自己想要加入某个俱乐部的意愿,学习情态动词can的用法。
本单元主要是学习情态动词can的肯定句、否定句、一般疑问句,肯定与否定回答,以及what引导的特殊疑问句的构成和用法。
通过学习本单元,学生能够表达自己在某一方面所具备的才能;能够谈论自己的喜好与意愿;能够为自己成立的各种俱乐部制作海报;会写招聘广告。

音乐,律动教学法(导入环节可用):选择包含有本单元重点语言点的,易于上口并且对
情感教育有帮助的英文歌曲,课前3分钟播放,达到热身效果。
本单元推荐英文歌曲 “I believe I can fly”. (共享资料附MV)
视听法(SA 与SB的部分新授课): 用英语组织教学,听说先行,并结合多媒体资料刺
激学生的视听器官,把目标词汇所构成的词块,句子放在情景中反复操练, 这种方法有
利于学生熟练掌握学习目标,并能有效培养英语语感。
3. 集体讨论法(SA与SB的活动任务部分):讨论-互助-报告
4. 任务教学法(SA与SB 的第二课时及单元写作选题):根据单元目标语言点,设计或口
头或书面的任务,创造出一个逼真的交际情境,指导学生完成所设定的任务。把学习英
语融入到任务完成中。(任务见课件)
语法翻译法(单元翻译练习部分):用母语组织教学,以语法教学为基础,多用演绎思维
引导学生能够熟练掌握并且应用本单元重点词汇,短语和句型翻译句子。

四.活动设置:
Game 1 who are they?
1. T shows several photos of some popular sports stars, film stars or singing stars on the screen.
2. T asks one student to come over to the computer and choose his or her favorite star (keep it only between him/her and T). Other Ss may only ask Can he/she…? Or Is he/she…? And guess which star is chosen.
Game 2 What can they do?
Ask students to play pictures of his favourite people and make one or two statements about them. A student may say, my favourite sports star is .... He/ She can sing, but he /she can’t play the piano. (He / She can speak English, but he/ she can’t speak a little English)
Game 3 Group work: interview and report
1. Interview the Ss in your group;

1.can v. 情态动词。能;可以;会,表示能力,其后的动词用原形;其疑问句经常用来询问对方做某事的能力或表示请求;否定形式为cannot,缩写为can’t。
肯定句: 主语+can +V原形+其他 He can play the violin. 他会拉小提琴
否定句: 主语+can’t + V原形+其他 I can’t play chess.我不会下棋。
一般疑问句: Can +主语+ V原形 +其他 Can you dance? Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.
2. play v. 玩;打(球)
play with 玩...(a yo-yo)

paint用颜料等画;油漆;着色于;刷

draw画;绘制(指用钢笔、铅笔或蜡笔绘画或画素描画)

6.kid n. 孩子(美语)复数形式为kids。
Are you good with kids? 你和孩子们相处得好吗?
也可以做动词,意为:欺瞒;哄骗;嘲笑;戏弄
Don’t kid me. 别骗我。 Are you kidding? 你开玩笑吧?
7.be good with … 和…相处得好, 同义短语 get on well with …
She is good with her friends. 她与朋友们相处的很好。
拓展: be good at 擅长 Tom is good at math. So he wants to join the math club.
be good to 对…好 Although Miss Green is serious, she is good to us.
be good for 对… 有益 Swimming is good for our health.
8.talk , speak ,say & tell
talk v. 谈话;讲话;谈论;讨论; 同某人谈论(某事) talk to/with sb.(about sth.)
What are you talking about? 你们在谈些什么?
speak v. 说;讲;使用(某种语言); 对某人说(某事) speak to/with sb. (about sth.)
He does not speak English. 他不讲英语。
say v. 强调说话的内容,一般用作及物动词,同时表示 对某人说,say to sb
He says he can speak English now. 他说他现在会说英语了。
tell v. 告诉,常用结构tell sb. sth 告诉某人某事
tell a story / tell stories讲故事 tell a joke / tell jokes 讲笑话
eg. He likes telling stories, so he wants to join the story telling club
9.help v. 帮助
help with sth. 帮着做某事 help with housework 帮着做家务
help sb. with sth. 帮助某人(做)某事, help me with my lessons 帮我学习功课
help sb. (to) do sth. 帮助某人做某事
He often helps me (to) learn English. =He often helps me with my English. 他经常帮我学英10.Help Wanted 寻求帮助
wanted 是want的过去式和过去分词, 可用于招聘或启事等的标题。
eg. Cook Wanted 招聘厨师 Teacher Wanted 招聘教师
Section B
1.or conj.或者
or连接的可供选择的一般疑问句成为选择疑问句。如 Is this pen yours or his? 回答不用yes和no,选择什么答什么。读选择疑问句时,or前用升调,or后用降调。
英语中否定句列举几个人或事物时,通常在最后一个人或物前加or, 而不加and, 但如果前后名词都有no修饰时,则可以用and。 如:
It has no feet or legs. = it has no feet and no legs.
在肯定句中,or 表示否则,不然。
eg. Get up early, or you'll be late. 早点起床,否则你会迟到的。
2.musician n. 音乐家;乐师;作曲家 复数形式为musicians
musician 来源于music(音乐),加上后缀-ian成为musician。
拓展:类似的词有magic(魔术)+ -ian --- magician (魔术师)

for 介词,表目的,意为 为了……
