Usually it takes university students 3 years to get their degree (学位) in the UK. But language students need 4 years. They usually spend the third year abroad (在国外) — they go to a country to learn its language. They can either work or study there. This way they can put into practice what they have learnt in class.
During their year abroad, students get a completely new experience. Many try to find other students to live with and some live with host families. They cannot only learn the language, but also come to understand the culture, the people and the traditions (传统) of the country. That is an important part of language learning.
Ellen Rothnie, a student of French (法语), spent her year abroad in Paris (巴黎). She taught English in a language school. “Teaching my own language makes me understand what works and what doesn't in language learning,” Ellen said. “And my students are also my friends. They show me how people speak and live in the country. That's helpful in improving my French.”
The year abroad is great fun but the students also have stress, because they have to build a life in a new country alone. But when the students settle into their new way of life, it becomes easier and many would describe their year abroad as one of the greatest experiences of their lives.

There are several reasons for this. First, the forests get smaller. It’s one of the most important problems. they don’t have enough food to eat or enough places to live. Second, humans pollute the rivers.
It’s time to protect endangered animals. As middle school students, what can we do? First, we must tell people around us that the problem of endangered animals is serious. Second, we should advise the government to build more nature parks for animals.
