Step1: Brainstorming
Read the two sentences and tell the part of speech and meaning of the two “stop”.

cause, reason, excuse
cause通常指造成某一事实或现象或产生某种结果的直接原因,可与effect连用表因果,常与of 连用。
reason用以说明一种方法或行为的理由,指逻辑上的理由。给以通情达理,合乎逻辑的解释,后接介词for 短语或why引导的定语从句。
excuse为免受指责和推卸责任而找的理由、借口,有贬义的意味。

The Blind Boy
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a __36__ which said: “I am blind, please help.” There were only a few __37_ in the hat.
