1. —What’s in our study? 你的书房里有什么?
—There is a sofa, a desk, some books and so on. 有一个沙发、一张书桌和一些书等等。
(1) What’s in +介词短语? 意为“某处有……?”,答语应该用There be句型。
e.g. —What’s under the chair? 椅子下面有什么?
—There is a football. 有一个足球。
(2) and so on意为“等等”,列举事物时用于句尾,表示列举完了同类事物。
e.g. I like apples, bananas and so on. 我喜欢苹果、香蕉等。
2. Why not go upstairs and have a look? 为什么不上楼看看呢?
Why not +动词原形?意为“为什么不……?”,用于提建议,也可替换为 “Why don’t you+动词原形?”
e.g. —Why not ask the teacher for help? = Why don’t you ask the teacher for help? 为什么不向老师寻求帮助呢?

归纳:提建议的常用表达法还有:

Do 1c. Read 1a and fill in the blanks individually. Then check the answers with their partners.

(1) one此处指代上文提到的a clock。one可用来泛指上下文提及的同类事物中的一个,同类而非同一,只能代替单数可数名词,复数时用ones来代替。
e.g. My bike is broken. I need to buy a new one. 我的自行车坏了,我需要买一台新的。
(2) on the wall在墙体外部表面上
e.g. There is a picture on the wall. 在墙上有一张画。
拓展:in the wall在墙体里
e.g. There is a window in the wall. 在墙上有一扇窗户。
2. There are so many books on the shelves. 书架上有许多书。
so many=too many 意为“许多”,后接可数名词的复数形式。
e.g. There are so many / too many students in the hall. 大厅里有许多学生。
拓展:so much=too much意为“许多”,后接不可数名词。
e.g. There is so much / too much water on the floor. 地上有许多水。

Don’t put them there. 是否定形式的祈使句。其句型结构为 “Don’t +动词原形”,意为“不要,别”。

(2) put them away 意为“将……收起”,是及物动词+副词构成的动词短语。宾语是人称代词时用宾格,代词必须放在动词与副词中间,如果宾语是名词,即可放中间也可放后面。

How many与How much的区别:

对不可数名词的量提问时,用“How much+不可数名词+is there+地点状语?”

There be 与 have/has 的区别
There be 侧重 “存在关系”, 表示“某地、某物或某时间存在某人/某物” 。

一、There be 句型
肯定句:There is/are+主语+其他。
否定句:There is/are+not+主语+其他。
一般疑问句:
—Is/Are there+主语+其他?—Yes, there is/are. —No, there isn't/aren’t.
二、There be 与 have/has 的区别
There be 侧重“存在关系”, 表示“某地、某物或某时间存在某人/某物” 。
There is a book on the desk. There is a soccer game on Sunday.
have/has侧重“所属关系” ,表示“某人(动物)拥有……”。如:
She has some interesting books. The cat has two big eyes.
