一般过去时的意义：表示过去某个时间内
发生的动作或存在的状态，常和表示过去
的时间状语连用，如yesterday, last night,
two days ago, in 1990……

They weren’t basketball players.
She didn’t walk yesterday afternoon.
一般过去时态时的否定式：
was/were+not
did+not+动词原形

一般过去时的疑问式：
Was/Were+主语+其他 答语：Yes, …was/were. 或 No, …wasn’t/weren’t.
Did +主语+动词原形+其他 答语：Yes, …did. 或 No, …didn’t.
How was your school trip?
No, I didn’t. I went to a farm.
Did you go to the zoo?
Yes, I did. I saw quite a lot.
Did you see any cows?
Yes, they were.
Were the strawberries good?

在过去时态里面没有人称和数的变化，动词都要用过去式。

一般情况：在动词词尾直接加ed
look-looked ask-asked play-played
2.以不发音字母e结尾的动词：直接加d
live-lived hope-hoped use-used
3.以重读闭音节结尾的动词，末尾只有一个辅音字母：
双写这个辅音字母再加ed
stop-stopped plan-planned
4.以辅音字母+y结尾的动词：变y为i再加ed
