Elias’ story
Elias joined the ANC Youth League which Mandela set up in 1944.Because of his fighting he was put into Robben Island,the prison from which no one escaped. Mandela taught them during the lunch breaks and the evenings when they should have been asleep. After finishing 4 years in prison, he was out of work for 20 years until the ANC came into power in 1994. He got a job taking tourists around the prison. Although he felt bad the first time he talked to a group, gradually, he was proud to do that.
