一、教学目标
1．能听、说、读、写单词及词组grass、gym、ago和dining hall。
2．了解与一般过去时连用的时间状语：years ago、months ago、last year和last month。
3．能运用There be句型的一般现在时和一般过去时表达不同时间的某地点和某事物。
二、教学重点、难点
听、说、读、写单词及词组grass、gym、ago和dining hall，并能灵活运用There be句型的一般现在时和一般过去时。
三、教学准备
单词卡片、教学光盘和多媒体课件。
教学过程
Step 1：Review&Lead in(复习&导入)
1．教师播放本单元歌曲“Changes in me”，学生在教师的引导下跟唱，作为课前热身。
2．教师拿出学校的图片和学生对话。T: What's this? S: It's a library.引导学生用There be句型来说“There is a library in our school.”，以此类推，分别描述 teachers' office、playground、computer room和art room等。
Step 2：Presentation&Practice(新课呈现&当堂操练)
1．教师出示学校的草坪图和学生对话。T: What's this? Ss: It's grass. (板书grass并教读)
Chant: Grass, grass. Play football on the grass.
2．出示饭厅的图片和学生对话。T: What's this? Ss: It's a dining hall. (板书 dining hall并教读)
Chant: Dining hall, dining hall. Have lunch in the dining hall.
3．教师出示体育馆图片和学生对话。T: What's this? Ss: It's a gym. (板书 gym并教读)
Chant: Gym, gym. Play basketball in the gym.
4．教学单词ago及词组...years ago、...months ago。
教师先说几个句子让学生感受。“I went fishing three days ago. I went to Beijing two years ago.”。(板书并教读ago)让学生说出...years ago、...months ago的意思并造句。
5．出示课本挂图，板书并介绍本课重难点句型：
There was no gym in my school twenty years ago.
Now there's a new one in our school.
板书“There was/were...years/months ago/last year/month. Now there is/are...”。引导学生理解并朗读，指导学生注意观察、比较和总结。
6．教师呈现本校新旧照片两张，学生学说句子，描述学校以前和现在的样子。例如：
There was no computer room ten years ago. Now there's a new one in our school.
7．教师播放录音，学生听录音，给单词标序号，并跟读。
Step 3：Consolidation&Extension(巩固&拓展)
1．模仿Wu Yifan和他的爸爸，分角色表演Let's learn部分的对话，并进行自由创编对话。
2．指导学生完成Find the mistakes。
让学生想象并说说他们心中的唐代是什么样子，有哪些场所、物件。
呈现课本Find the mistakes图片，师生一起观察图片，读一读词汇，看看图片中都有哪些场所。
T: It's the Tang dynasty. It was more than 1，000 years ago.
玩“大家来找茬”游戏，完成Find the mistakes部分的课堂活动。
学生先自己读句子，然后小组合作找出错误的地方。
鼓励小组代表上台仿照例句进行描述，教师给予适当指导。
Step 4：Summary(小结)
本课我们重点学习了运用There be句型的一般现在时和一般过去时表达不同时间的某地点和某事物。
