教学过程
Step 1:Review&Lead in(复习&导入)
1.教师播放本单元歌曲“Changes in me”,学生跟唱歌曲。
2.学生表演本单元Part A Let's talk的对话。
A: Tell us about your school, please.
B: There was no library in my old school.
A: Do you have a library now?
B: Yes, there is a library in my school.
3.教师拿出自己两年前的照片以及现在的照片,并让学生观察有什么区别,导入新课,如“Before, my hair was short. Now, my hair is long.”,引导学生体会这两句话所描述的时间及区别。
Step 2:Presentation&Practice(新课呈现&当堂操练)
1.教师在课件上呈现一幅Let's try部分Mike和朋友在看老照片的图片,先让学生猜猜他们在看什么,引出对话背景。引导学生看题并进行猜测“What are they talking about? What grade was Mike in?”,然后播放录音,完成听力练习。教师再次播放录音,师生一起核对答案。
2.教师介绍Let's talk的对话背景“Mike and his friends are looking at the old photos and talking about their changes.”,并提出问题“What were they like before?”,引导学生想象他们三人以前的样子和性格。教师可给出以下提示单词或短语:short、tall、fat、thin、long hair、short hair、quiet、active、kind、funny...
3.教师播放本部分课文动画,学生认真观看,获取核心信息,并根据对话内容,在相关的信息下打勾。

4.学生自主阅读,提出自己不懂的词句,教师给予解释。
对话中“You're wearing a pink T-shirt.”,虽然是指Mike老照片里所穿的衣服,但在谈论照片时,欧美国家比较倾向于用一般现在时或现在进行时进行描述。
different和active为新词,教师需解释其意思,并提醒学生注意它们的发音。
5.教师播放课文录音,学生逐句跟读。
Step 3:Consolidation&Extension(巩固&拓展)
1.学生分角色表演本课时Let's talk的对话,并在全班展示。
2.Talk about your friends or family members。学生拿出自己带来的旧照片,四人一组,描述自己的朋友或家人的变化。例如:
S1: Before, I was quiet. Now, I'm very active in class. How about you?
S2: Before, I was short. Now, I'm tall.
S3: Before, I didn't wear glasses. Now, I wear glasses.
S4: I had short hair before. Now, I have long hair.
然后请学生展示给全班看。
Step 4:Summary(小结)
本课我们重点学习了用句型“Before, I was... Now, I'm...”描述自己的变化。
Step 5:Test(当堂微测)
读一读,选一选。
