Lesson 3 Owning a Car
【教学目标】
1.To arouse students’ interest in English and develop their team spirit.
2.To talk about the advantages and disadvantages of owning a car.
3.To express opinions and tell the reasons of owning a car.
4.To find out the problems that cars bring us from the disadvantages of owning a car and discuss about the solutions to the problems.
5.To enable students to realize the importance of protecting the environment.

【教学过程】
I. Pre-learning activities
1.A brain storm.
2.Review some new words and expression according to the English meaning.
3.Spell the words and expression according to the English meaning.
II. While-learning activities
Ask the students to listen to the text and answer the questions.
Listen to the tape and answer some questions.
Ask the students to skim the passage.
Do the skimming and answer some question. Do the skimming and tell whether the statements are true or false. Use the given words to finish the short passage. Read the rest of the passage and answer the questions.
III. Post-learning activities
Write about the students’ own opinion about the topic: Should a family own a car?
