（二）语言功能项目：
一、过去进行时
1、定义：表示在过去某一时刻或某一时间内正在进行的动作。
2、构成：was/were+动词-ing形式（第一人称单数和第三人称单数用was，其余用were）。
3、举行结构
肯定句：主语+was/were+动词-ing形式+其他。
否定句：主语+was/were+not+动词-ing形式+其他。
一般疑问句：Was/Were+主语 +动词-ing形式+其他。
回答：Yes，主语+was/were；No，主语+wasn’t/weren’t。
4、常用的时间状语
at that time, this time yesterday, at the time of ..., when+一般过去时的时间状语从句。
5、与一般过去时的区别
过去进行时表示在过去某一时刻或某段时间内发生的动作，强调动作正在进行；一般过去时表示过去发生的动作，多侧重于动作已经完成。
二、when与while引导的时间状语从句
1、when引导的时间状语从句：说明一个动作发生时，另一个动作正在进行；也可表示正在进行某一动作时，另一动作发生了。
eg：When the teacher came into the classroom, we were reading English.
2、while引导的时间状语从句：表示某个动作正在进行的同时，另一个动作也在进行之中，这时主从句都用进行时态，有对同类的两个动作尽心对比的意味；也可表示某个动作正在进行时，另一个动作发生了。
eg: While I was playing the piano, she was dancing.
三against的用法
介词，意思是“倚、碰、撞”
拓展：（1）意思是反对时，反义词是for。（2）表示与....相反，常与动词play、fight、protect、argue连用。
四、beat与win的区别
（1）beat， 动词，意思是打败、战胜。后接比赛的对手，即人或者是参赛队。
（2）win，动词，意思是赢得、获胜。常接比赛、战争、奖品、奖金等名词。

I had hidden the long black bag in the garage for the past two days．Tonight，in the dark，I would finally take it away．If everything went OK，it would be done by morning．But I had to be sure no one，not even my wife，saw me．
It was more difficult to get away from the party than I expected．I said that the children were tired and needed to get to bed．It was partly true．But the main reason for leaving was that I wanted to complete my plan．
