36. A. growing B. migrating C. competing D. disappearing
【答案】D
【解析】根据第一段首句“Wildlife has been greatly threatened in the modern age”和尾句提到的“…the species from going out of existence”可以推知,野生动物正在遭受巨大威胁,每天都有一些物种消失。
37. A. ban B. save C. split D. remove
38. A. abortion B. recreation C. reproduction D. administration
39. A. care B. eye C. mind D. story
【答案】A
故选A。
40. A. found B. chosen C. raised D. seized
41. A. bonus B. consequence C. victory D. sacrifice
42. A. never B. always C. unluckily D. cheerfully
【答案】A
故选A。
43. A. liked B. refused C. decided D. hesitated
44. A. gift B. skill C. concern D. reputation
45. A. illegal B. inspiring C. important D. impossible
46. A. Therefore B. Moreover C. However D. Instead
Therefore因此;Moreover而且;However然而;Instead反而。
47. A. combination B. collection C. strategy D. system
【答案】A
48. A. forced B. forbade C. taught D. enabled
enable sb. to do sth.
49. A. defeated B. grateful C. assured D. tolerant
50. A. list B. rise C. agenda D. decline
on the list在名单上;on the rise在涨,在增加,好转;on the agenda在议事日程中;on the decline下降,减少。
51. A. In contrast B. After all C. By the way D. On the contrary
In contrast相反;By the way顺便说一下;On the contrary相反。
52. A. leave B. bridge C. open D. identify

54. A. brains B. behaviors C. services D. projects

55. A. guide B. treat C. example D. companion
【答案】A

book)。
54. A. choice B. reward C. promise D. break

For a long time Gabriel didn’t want to be involved in music at all. In his first years of high school, Gabriel would look pityingly at music students, ___36___ across the campus with their heavy instrument cases, ___37___ at school for practice hours ___38___ anyone else had to be there. He swore to himself to ___39___ music, as he hated getting to school extra early.
___40___, one day, in the music class that was ___41___ of his school’s standard curriculum, he was playing idly(随意地)on the piano and found it ___42___ to pick out tunes. With a sinking feeling, he realized that he actually ___43___ doing it. He tried to hide his ___44___ pleasure from the music teacher, who had ___45___ over to listen. He might not have done this particularly well, ___46___ the teacher told Gabriel that he had a good ___47___ and suggested that Gabriel go into the music store-room to see if any of the instruments there ___48___ him. There he decided to give the cello(大提琴)a ___49___. When he began practicing, he took it very ___50___. But he quickly found that he loved playing this instrument, and was ___51___ to practicing it so that within a couple of months he was playing reasonably well.
This ___52___, of course, that he arrived at school early in the morning, ___53___ his heavy instrument case across the campus to the ___54___ looks of the non-musicians he had left ___55___.
根据文章第一句话“For a long time Gabriel didn’t want to be involved in music at all.
36.A. travelling B. marching C. pacing D. struggling
37.A. rising up B. coming up C. driving up D. turning up
turn up(=show up)在此意为“出现”,符合语境。rise up上升,耸立,起来造反,起义;come up上来,发生,提到;drive up驱车来到,使……上升。
38.A. before B. after C. until D. since
【答案】A
故A正确。
39.A. betray B. accept C. avoid D. appreciate
40.A. Therefore B. However C. Thus D. Moreover
41.A. part B. nature C. basis D. spirit
【答案】A
【解析】空格所在位置为定语从句:that was ___41___ of his school’s standard curriculum,修饰music class,意思是说:音乐课是学校的课程标准的一部分(part),故选A。
42.A. complicate B. safe C. confusing D. easy
【答案】D
【解析】联系上文“he was playing idly(随意地)on the piano他随意地弹了弹钢琴”和下文“pick out tunes分辨出曲调”,再联系下文“actually... tried to hide... pleasure”等词和词组可以看出,Gabriel在音乐中找到了乐趣,并试图隐藏这份愉悦,由此可知,本空的意思是“发现很容易(easy)辨别出曲调”与上文的“However”相呼应,故选D项。
43.A. missed B. disliked C. enjoyed D. denied
【答案】C
【解析】联系下文“He tried to hide his ___44___ pleasure from the music teacher他尽力隐藏自己的_______喜悦之情”,再联系上文中的“actually实际上”可知,Gabriel对音乐的看法有了变化,他实际上是喜欢(enjoyed)音乐的,也与上文的“However”相呼应。
44.A. transparent B. obvious C. false D. similar
【答案】B
【解析】根据本空所在句子“He tried to hide his ___44___ pleasure from the music teacher他尽力隐藏自己的_______喜悦之情”,由“尽力”一词可以推断这种喜悦之情是很明显被人发现的,故选B。
45.A. run B. jogged C. jumped D. wandered
46.A. because B. but C. though D. so
【答案】A
【解析】上文“He might not have done this particularly well”似乎跟下文的“___46___the teacher told Gabriel that he had a good ___47___, _______老师告诉他他有好的______”似乎构成了逻辑上的转折关系,所以不少考生认为选B理所当然。其实不然,对上文“He might not have done this particularly well”作深度分析可知:句中的“this”指代的是上文中“He tried to hide his obvious pleasure from the music teacher”这件事,所以“He might not have done this particularly well”的言下之意是:他本来是可以把自己的喜悦之情隐藏好的,但是没有做到。
47.A. ear B. taste C. heart D. voice
【答案】A
【解析】结合上文“he was playing idly(随意地)on the piano and found it easy to pick out tunes. 故选A。
48.A. occurred to B. took to C. appealed to D. held to
【答案】C
【解析】occur to sb.某人突然想起;take to开始喜欢;appeal to有吸引力,引起兴趣;hold to抓住。any of the instruments appealed to him=he took to any of the instruments。
49.A. change B. chance C. mission D. function
50.A. seriously B. proudly C. casually D. naturally
【答案】C
【解析】根据下文“But he quickly found that he loved playing this instrument但是他很快发现他喜欢拉大提琴”可知:当他开始拉大提琴时,并没有认真对待,而是“非常随便(casually)地拉了一下”。
51.A. committed B. used C. limited D. admitted
【答案】A
【解析】根据上文“But he quickly found that he loved playing this instrument但是他很快发现他喜欢拉大提琴”和下文“so that within a couple of months he was playing reasonably well以便几个月之内就可以把大提琴拉得相当好”是他“致力于练习拉大提琴”的两大动力。be committed to sth./doing sth.
52.A. proved B. showed C. stressed D. meant
53.A. pushing B. dragging C. lifting D. rushing
54.A. admiring B. pitying C. annoying D. teasing
【答案】B
【解析】联系第一段“Gabriel would look pityingly at music students.
55.A. over B. aside C. behind D. out

1.考查的词类主要考查:动词及其短语、名词和形容词;兼顾考查:副词、介词及其短语和连词;
2.空格的设置以句内层次设空(较易)、句群层次设空(较难)为主,语篇层次设空(最难)为辅;
1.复习中特别要重视动词及其短语、名词、形容词在语境中的灵活运用;
2.复习中要有意识地加强对句群层次设空和语篇层次设空的针对训练;
